I'll try to post as many links and information as possible...but Engadget and Gizmodo seem to be the best bet. We should be getting info on several new BD players.

Also, the new TH-SB100 is US version of the NX-BD3 previously available in Europe, but no mention of any support for DTS-HD or Dolby TrueHD (available in April for $699).

Nothing from Denon?
|
Re: The 2009 CES Blu-ray Thread - Players
Per above today seems to be conferences for many of the *big* players. I believe Denon and the like usually see press releases and show-room announcements.

Re: The 2009 CES Blu-ray Thread - Players
As Expected:
http://www.engadgethd.com/2009/01/07...d80-and-bd70v/ Panasonic didn't spend much time on its new trio of Blu-ray players, but we caught a quick snap just to give you a heads-up of what's coming down the pike. The BD60 will support YouTube / Amazon Video on Demand content, while the BD80 will include BD-Live (Profile 2.0) support and the BD70V will simply go down as the "ultimate multi-format player." Or something like that. |
Re: The 2009 CES Blu-ray Thread - Players
More info on the Panasonic Players by Videobusiness.
The BD70V is a VHS/BR combo unit. and The DMP-BD60 has improved on Panasonic’s most recent entry model, the DMP-BD35, with a 10% power reduction. Its higher-end DMP-BD80 offers 7.1 channel analog to replicate the movie theater 7.1 surround sound experience. |
Re: The 2009 CES Blu-ray Thread - Players
Starting to wonder if I should have waited another year or so to get a player. $199 for the Sony 350 was too hard to pass on though.
Those Samsungs sound awesome though. |
Re: The 2009 CES Blu-ray Thread - Players
Seems like every BD CE is doing streaming/downloads.
|
Re: The 2009 CES Blu-ray Thread - Players
There are also three new Pioneer Players due out in April, and one will be under $300.
|
Re: The 2009 CES Blu-ray Thread - Players
Wow...lots of players and low prices. How long before they are given away with a box of poptarts?
|
Re: The 2009 CES Blu-ray Thread - Players
Giz - think you and I are the only ones who seem to care.
Anyway, new Panasonic players: http://i.gizmodo.com/5125883/panason...ing-to-a-slide Looks like the 35 and 55 are replaced by the 60 and 80 respectively (?). |
Re: The 2009 CES Blu-ray Thread - Players
LOL at the Words Thinnest player, Panasonic. Samsung kicked your ass on that. And I can upconvert my VHS to 1080p? YES!

I'm interested in the Panasonic blu-ray players. When will they be out?

Re: The 2009 CES Blu-ray Thread - Players
The new Samsung models including built-in wireless-G is long overdue on a blu-ray player. What a hassle having to route ethernet around the house to stream Netflix and access BD-live content.
