Any Disney BD-Live Network Members Out There?
Please forgive me if this has already been discussed or if there is another thread talking about it... I tried searching, but had no results.
Anyhoo... Is anybody here members of the Disney BD-Live Network?
I just set-up my account and it appears that there isn't a way to just meet people to chat with during the movies. You actually have to enter your friends' names. Until more people I know (or ANYBODY I know, for that matter) get a Blu-ray player and then start collecting BD-Live enabled Disney movies, this membership seems a little useless.

Yea, I'm a member. Checked it out for a little bit and it didn't seem to offer much utility.

Much like Universal's and Warner's service...its a pain in the butt to actually use. You can't randomly meet people - you have to add each person individually. I tested Disney and Universal so far and found the features to be pretty much useless. Why create a video commentary if I can't share it with everyone?

is BD-Live really all that it's cracked up to be? i mean, i'm not just asking about Disney titles but among BD-Live enabled titles in general, are there any that really has something to offer using the BD-Live thing?

The Dark Knight content I saw was much better than the Disney stuff I've seen. I agree the concept has a long way to go.

Everything I have read, including this thread, says that BD-Live in general is not that good. At this point, setting up an internet connection next to my HDTV and Blu-Ray player doesn't seem to be worth it.

I entered a screening of Pinocchio yesterday, with strangers.
There were 4 people in the room when I got there. It polled me very few mins, and gave the results of the room.
It also started the movie where the rest were I believe, because it started about 30 mins in mid song.
The concept is cool, but like others said, the execution it a bit off right now.
To answer jarofclay73, no, I wouldn't go wiring the home theater up just yet.
I did watch some of the Batman "viewing" with Nolan. All I could think was that every question he took was non scene related and could have been filled out days before the "screening". Interesting insight, but I doubt he was actually there at the time.

Since my BD player is a PS3 I already have an internet connection on it. Good lord, the BD Live (on WALL·E I think) was so ridiculously slow.
But then its based on Java. You're an idiot if you expect it to perform at any speed that's deemed acceptable.

jarofclay73, you wouldn't necessarily need to wire the room. You could just set up a wireless bridge. Picture it as a small wireless router you hook up your devices to and instead of running a cable to your main router, it connects wireless.
I have 3 at my house and they all save me the hassle of trying to run cables.
