Dexter Season 1 for me. This has got to be the finest show on television right now. It's fan-friggin-tastic.

Nothing for now. I still haven't seen The Last Emperor, so I'll have to rent it first.

Dexter Season 1
The Last Emperor

When they're on sale.

I have Friday Night Lights on HD-DVD already, so unless the lossless audio is a huge upgrade, I'll stick with my current copy.

I'm getting Last Emperor, though there are a couple of other titles I know I'll want to get eventually (Dexter, Opium ..., and maybe Pineapple Express if I find it cheap).

Eventually Pineapple Express and Rightous Kill but I'm done buying things release week. It seems that if I wait a month sale comes along even better.

Dexter when it comes down in price. The SD set will hold me over until then.

I'm forcing myself to adhere to one of my resolutions, which is no blind buys. It's gonna be tough but I gotta reign in the BD spending LOL. Not to mention I'm also tired of Amazon kicking pre-order holders in the nuts with their sales following days later.

So rentals:

Babylon Ad
Last Emperor
Pineapple Express
Righteous Kill
Wackness

Don't ask me why but even though I had Blockbuster online I would blind buy tons of stuff and sure enough they would be on sale shortly thereafter. Now I rent everything first then if and when I know it's a real repeat viewer I'll pick one up on sale.

Yeah, I'm done with Amazon for the most part until at least a week after a title has been released (I rarely watch a film right when I get it anyway). Why pay $27.99 for a title to get it Wednesday when Amazon drops the price to $22.99 on Thursday?

What's worse for me is if I do blind buy, if I don't watch it right away, it will sit for months or worse. If I rent then I have to watch it soon. So if anything this will help me see more new films in a timely manner.

Nothing for me this week. A year after buying a new bookcase to house my BDs and HD DVDs, I've already run out of space ... I'm going to try hard from now on to keep my purchases only to "the essentials" ...

Actually after reading yours, it did it for me! I love a lot of Kung Fu cinema.

Re: What Blu-ray Discs are you getting on 01.06.09...?

Only a couple of sites have the Eden Lake BD listed. I ordered it from DVDPlanet this morning, and just received an email stating it was discontinued. Did those Weinstein bastards pull the Blu-Ray?

Re: What Blu-ray Discs are you getting on 01.06.09...?

It looks like Eden Lake is still coming out in the UK this month. Optimum is apparently hit or miss about region-coding their Blu-ray titles, so who knows...?
