Spent too much money on the following Hong Kong BDs:

* Bodyguards and Assassins (surprised me that it came with a nice slipcover too)
* Ip Man
* Lust, Caution
* Police Story Series (yes, I know the transfers aren't all that great, but still had to have it)
* SPL

Last 50 Dates.

Not a great improvement over DVD, but it is a gift to my wife's on her 50th BDay.

I will also be including a note on how everyday is a new and exciting day being married to her.

Just got in on the Gold Box deal for Firefly. I've been waiting for this to dip below $30.

Riot, you always have good stacks of movies. Just curious do you buy them used? It seems like they never have shrinkwraps on them.

I've heard that some people actually open and watch their films, but I imagine it's just a nasty rumor.

nah they're all new (i've never bought used, not even with dvd). i open everything as soon as i get it and inspect it before it officially enters my collection. i have an amazon prime trial membership through the end of the month and i got my tax return a couple weeks ago so that's why i've been buying a lot. starting next month expect the stacks to be much smaller and less frequent.

oh just because they're open doesn't mean they won't sit on the shelf unwatched for months...haha.

My weird OCD is that I cannot open a movie until I watch it & then I can't put it on the shelf until I finish watching it. But all my new buys that I post hear & in the DVD thread once I get them go to my stacks of unwatched movies, when I want to watch something I never plan, I (or someone else) just picks whatever is at the top of a pile.

They look like this . . .

Personally, I wish I was slightly more OCD and waited to open movies until I found time to watch them...

That looks like my house! Times a hundred unfortunately. Piles and boxes everywhere, many the result of a re-organizing project only partially completed. I keep saying that I'm going to take a month off and completely organize everything, but whenever I do I end up watching instead of organizing.

I actually usually don't open mine right away either. It being sealed is the signal that I need to watch it.

Although I am breaking this rule a lot lately as I move DVDs into slimcases. It makes me sad.

That is an old picture (I sold that POTA set last year), but my piles of unwatched movies are still massive, I want to watch them, I just don't have the time. And most of the time its not up to me what I watch.
