According to DVDAf and DVD Beaver it is. I sent an email to Odeon (the publisher) asking them, so I'll post any reply here.

I'll buy it either way, just curious. I did just find out that my Best Buy Insignia Blu-ray player can be made region free, that is awesome, I'll have to try when I get home.

NSFW but awesome. I've been promised review Blus of Battle Royale, Bay of Blood, and Deep Red, I'm just waiting for them to arrive.

It's too bad Martin didn't get a HD upgrade when they re-released the DVD back in June. I'd love to get some of the Russ Meyer stuff on Blu-ray.

Here here. I have the Meyer boxset, don't have Martin yet but would love to have them on Blu also.

I was wondering the same about the shot through the cheek one. It looked very Miike, but I don't remember him doing a movie with non-Japanese actors...

Play Time (BFI edition)
Commentary - this audio commentary with film historian Phillip Kemp was recorded exclusively for the British Film Institute. The gentleman discusses the production history of Play Time, the legacy of its director, the film's complex narrative, etc. Portions of the commentary also appear on Criterion's Blu-ray release of Play Time.

actually according to the blu-ray.com review it's a full length commentary track, unlike the Criterion release:

Re: Foreign Cinema in BLU (part 2)
Criterion usually makes some effort to avoid excessive redundancy in their extras -- maybe they felt there was too much overlap between the commentary and the video extras. Just a guess, I haven't heard the BFI commentary.

Re: Foreign Cinema in BLU (part 2)
Criterion would do that to free up disc space?? - sheesh, that'd be lame considering I could name quite a few dvd/blurays (from other studios) that overlay the two.
