Those thick rectangluar plastic tabs have been pretty mush SOP for all DVDs and CD for years now. What's up with the additional square, flat tab stuck to the inside of BR cases? Every one I've found is there WITH the older-style security device, not instead of. Is there some point to having two?
And why are they so difficult to remove? At least the older ones just peel off with minor residue.

I pull them off, too. A lot of Blu-ray cases have artwork that is visible through the open clear plastic case, and the bigger security tag especially covers some of the artwork. Plus, the government uses the tags to monitor my thoughts.
