Warner announces RocknRolla

Blu-ray.com

Warner Home Video has announced that they will bring the Guy Ritchie film 'RocknRolla' to Blu-ray on January 27th, day-and-date with the DVD release. The only technical spec known at this time is that the film will come on a BD-25, though you can expect a VC-1 video encode.

Extras for this release include:

Deleted Scene
Guy's Town

Digital Copy

Looks like Warner Butters is spreadin the love with this release. Think it will have TrueHD or lossy 5.1?

Awesome movie and I expect the extras to be very slim. On the press release there is a Dolby TruHD logo if that's anything to hold onto...

Yes, yes, yes!!

One of my favorite movies of the year right behind In Bruges -which doesn't have a domestic Blu-ray release.

It can't have TrueHD if there are any extras on a BD-25.

Updated Blu-ray specs.

Looks like we will be getting TrueHD on this release.

Watched this last night and the PQ is top notch. This wasn't getting the best reviews because the colors are muted. And because High Definition enthusiasts think they know better than cinematographers. The movie is great. Highly Recommended.

I thought it looked great. It's one of the few movies shot in HD that actually LOOKS like it. There's some splashes of vivid color but not enough for the "everything needs to look like Dead Man's Chest" crowd but who cares? That wasn't the intention. The entire film has like a sepia tone look to it.

Agree, one of 2008's best (IMO). Still waiting for my mother effin' copy from Amazon. I had purchased that and "In Bruges" BD import. Both released the same day. And asked for both to be shipped at the same time. But when I went online Tuesday night to check on the status and saw neither had shipped, I wasn't happy. Seems "Bruges" is coming from some other location, blah blah blah. In short, I had them ship separate, costing me more money. Hoping I have this tomorrow.

Re: Warner announces RocknRolla

I watched this last night, and echo the above comments on the PQ.

One word of warning: the movie starts automatically without the set-up menu, and the default is DD 5.1. So in order to access the Dolby TrueHD track, you have to engage the pop-up menu and select it.

Also noted that the trailers are in 4x3 letterbox format.... Come on, get with the program already!
