Fox Home Entertainment has announced that they will bring the Vin Diesel action film 'Babylon A.D.' to Blu-ray on January 6th, day-and-date with the DVD. The film will be presented in its unrated cut on a BD-50 with video presented as 1.85:1 1080p AVC accompanied by a 5.1 DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack.

Any word if this will be a director's/extended cut release? All I've read about the theatrical cut is that it was butchered by Fox with little to no input from the director on the changes made.

I would doubt that the "unrated cut" is really a "Director's Cut". Most likely they've just added a few extra bits of violence here and there, leaving the major problems with the movie unsolved.

Wow. I hope not. This film looked promising but all the bad press and stories of studio meddling kept me away. I was hoping to finally see it but if it's just gonna be a more violent crappy cut...
