Samsung LN-S4695D and Sony BDP-S550 compatibility problems?
I recently bought a Sony BDP-S550 blu ray player, and tried to hook it up to my Samsung LN-S4695D via HDMI. The initial "loading" screen shows up fine, but once I put in a disc and the player loads it up, the TV goes to "searching for signal". I waited 30 minutes last night for it to pick up the signal but it never did.
I tried playing a standard (non-blu ray) DVD in the BDP-S550, and the movie played fine. I also tried hooking up the player with a different HDMI cord and had the same problem. Lastly, I hooked up the BDP-S550 with the old red, white, and yellow cords, and the blu ray disc was able to be displayed fine (of course not in 1080p).
I googled the problem, and found some people with similar problems with hooking up a PS3 to this TV via HDMI. I had previously had a standard DVD player hooked up via HDMI, and that worked fine.
Anyone had this problem, or know how to solve it? Any help would be greatly apreciated!

Welcome to the wonderful world of HDMI handshaking issues. Can't help you with the HDMI one directly, but if there is no ready solution, you may want to consider using the Component Video (red green blue) connection if you have one free. You'll get your HD picture from Blu-Ray (but only 480p from DVD if you're using the 550 for upconversion) and use red/white RCA for the sound connection.
