this movie blows.
i watched the blu-ray a couple days ago and jeez, really?

the entire thing is just a race on one little circle track on an island that is a prison.

this is not a remake but a completely different movie.
were is the points for running over pedestrians?

everything was an extreme closeup and the there was jump cut every second.

it was freaking loud and not loud in a good way.
just loud, thats it.

also what was the story.
Spoiler:
joan allen sets people up by murdering a family and sets up
other family members to take the fall.

just because a movie blows up a bunch of stuff and has never ending car chase races doesn't make for exciting.

ZZZZzzzzzzzz.

Fucking Best Buy strikes again. So I've read here and other places where people have seen this in stores a day or two early. So I called my local BB and asked if they had it on their shelves too. The girl yes "Yes". I asked her twice, "'Death Race', the new Jason Stathom movie". She said yes again. Then I repeated "Death Race". Again, answered yes. My last question was "It's on your shelf?" (because I thought she could be looking at the computer). Again, yes. So I went there to pick it up. No "Death Race" to be found. What WAS there was "Death SPACE". And I know "Death Race" has to be in a box in their back room. Since the release date is actually tomorrow (Sunday). I asked the guy at the front desk to speak with someone. Hoping they'd go get me a copy at the very least for making a special trip for nothing. And no one showed up, so I left.

did you get the persons name on the phone?
if no then this is a thing that you should always do when
speaking to someone over the phone, for future reference.

when you went in you could ask for this person and ask them why she told
you it was on the shelf.

Its Christmas. The place is packed and most likely the girl already had ten different people asking her a question.

Actually it's DEAD SPACE, so she was even more wrong. Sorry dude. I'm going to drag myself out tomorrow even though I hate shopping holiday weekends because I must have Burn After Reading ASAP. Plus I have BB certs and a gift card so I'll probably get Death Race and Traitor as well.

Unless it features Sly Stallone punching women in the face, I think I'll pass.

Just got done watching the Blu-Ray. Excellent PQ and the sound is top notch. This is an insanely and ridiculously entertaining movie. Stupid, yes. But a lot of fun. It's worth a rental at least. Sorry you hated it whotony.
