Question about Aquos Blu Ray BD-HP20

I set this up but have not been able to get the tray to open.

I've read where people have had to wait for 20-50 seconds but I have been waiting minutes!

Anyone know what gives?

I have the Sharp HP20U also. If you've been waiting MINUTES for the tray to open, you need to take it back and exchange it. Something is wrong.

How long have you had it? There are other players right now that are priced the same, if not better, that will work much better then the Sharp unit which will forever be Profile 1.0.

I posted this in the bargains thread above:

$211 gets you get the Samsung 1500 (BD-Live 2.0). If you buy 4 of those movies you get $100 back. So you could get it for about $180 or so with the movies (if you get the cheap ones) and if you don't like them...sell them and make the player even cheaper. Go this route you will be much happier.
Even though I'm not a huge Samsung fan it will be far better then that Sharp unit (if you can still return it). If not, that Sylvania unit got decent reviews as well/

My father got it as a gift with purchase in Dec. I just picked it up from him. It was new in box...but its been too long to exchange it.

Stupid thing keeps saying incompatible disc but there is no disc in it!

Have you updated the firmware? If its been in its box since December its really out of date.

Edit: Ahh, the tray won't open...is there a pin hole anywhere on it where you can stick a paperclip in to pop the tray open to put a firmware disc in?
