Black Friday Blu-Ray Prices, the $179 BD Player
#52
I've read it's having issues with Indy 4, same as my 550. The movie pauses around the 57 minute mark and skips ahead 2 minutes and resumes playing. Other than that, I haven't read anything negative. BTW, other than Indy, my 550 has been a rock solid unit. I'm very happy with it. Same goes for the new Panasonic 35 which I also just bought. Both are great.

Thanks for the quick reply. If it has issues with Indy, I think I'll just wait. I'm just shocked the PS3 is STILL the superior player on the market. I guess I'll continue to wait for Oppo.

Now that we have the 1.1/2.0 issue out of the way (again, I apologize), if the Samsung 1500 were to come out for $150 on Black Friday, which would be the better deal? Is the Sony 350 worth an extra $30? What if they were the same price? Which is the better player, or is either the better player?

Personally, for $150-$180, I'd rather get a Panasonic BD30. It is by far considered the most stable standalone player around, and Panasonic really stands behind it with firmware updates. BD-Live be damned.
