Agreed. As well as The Pianist and Brothers Bloom. Heck, Bread and Roses and King Kong too.

Brody fantastic in King Kong? Are you kidding? Even if one didn't find him grossly miscast (which he was) aren't you going a bit nuts calling him "fantastic" in that movie.

I hated him in the Piainist as well. He just comes off as an over-acting fresh out of college stage actor. Like he always uses these expressions that some theater professor taught him to use in front of a mirror. I know people dig him, I know the critics love him, I can't stand the guyt.

Brothers Bloom still rules though.

(sorry if there are a ton of typos, I'm inc car on my iphone).

Okay. You hate him. I think he's a pretty good actor. It's fun to debate. We both still have good taste in movies though irregardless of Adrien Brody... :D2:

The Aviator. Well worth the $8.99 I paid for it on Amazon.

The Running Man - Decent PQ - it's better than the SD. AQ still solid. What a fun motherfucker of a movie.

Black Dynamite - brilliant on several levels, amazing quality for 16mm reversal
2012 - shit movie with a huge budget, and I love disaster flicks even. Took itself way too serious to be fun, really. Some nice PQ in parts, but never looks like film so I'm assuming it was video.
Rocky 1-3 - First one looks better than the DVD with nice blacks and colors; 2 & 3 are damn sharp with beautiful grain. Good upgrade.

The Secret Life of Bees - Had to review this. Obviously not my cup of tea, but it had some great cinematography and surprisingly good performances - I like 1960's-era films. Great PQ, decent AQ, and lots of extras.

Cirque Du Freak: The Vampire's Assistant, not a bad film just, an odd one. I enjoyed Reilly's performance and that of the fat guy but other than that, it was rather pedestrian.

Rome - Season 2, Disc 1 - Along with Band of Brothers, by far the gold standard of TV on Blu-Ray. IMO the second season of Rome may be the best single season of TV HBO ever produced.

Season One: Nurse Jackie. AN entertaining medical drama to be sure but nowhere near as well written as say Grey's Anatomy. Edie Franco is great and the only real reason to watch this. Don't know if I'd pick up Season 2 though.

Finally getting around to watching Band of Brothers for the first time.

Disc one was great, really looking forward to the rest of the series.

2012. I enjoyed this as a great popcorn flick. Incredible sound!

Night at the Museum. Fun family movie. Disc was scratched up though from Netflix and my LG wouldn't even read the disc. Thankfully the PS3 could handle it.

It is such a powerful series I'm willing to bet you'll break your habit of not rewatching things you've seen and check this out repeatedly. For those that are interested in WWII it's a must own.

Yeah, I've already re-watched a few scenes, and I plan to watch it again with commentary (ies) if it has those.

Not only is the series extremely well done in all aspects so far, but my Dad was in the war and at Normandy, so the topic is near and dear to me.

Fireproof It's a Kirk Cameron Christian story recommended to me by a friend. HE said it would strengthen a marriage, it was really just 90 minutes of misery, I have that at home I don't want to watch it too.

I'm excited for this too, but I don't watch television until it comes out on DVD (except comedies, and very occasional exceptions). I just find that television series with dramatic arcs are much better when watched as a season over the course of a week or three.

The Ladykillers - PQ quality was weird. Very crisp image but it looked torched, extremely bright and saturated. Great movie though.
