See this now! Just wonderful. Sublime. Had a grin from ear to ear till end. John Carney hits a homerun with this one. Such an incredible mix of everything i love about music and movies. Think i liked it better than Once. And i loved Once. this was just so enjoyable. can't wait to see it again. too bad about the skimpy Bluray extras...

Star Trek: Insurrection - I had never seen this one before and it wasn't all that. It starts off rather incongruent and incoherent. It felt like an extended episode and the stakes where just not that high, IMO. It's shitty that The Next Generation films never recovered after First Contact.

The Lobster...nope, didn't like this one at all. I see what they were trying to do, little Eternal Sunshineish which I loved, but this didn't work at all for me.

I snagged a brand new copy via 3rd market seller on Amazon:

I had not watched the film in like 15 years, at least, but watching it again it all came back to me. I doubt this is the definitive cut of the film but it's definitely rated R and even certain shots/effects, etc., still differ from the R rated version that came out on VHS/DVD stateside.

I read that the Japanese version is technically the best edition, because it has decent special features but the price is prohibitive. This German edition is barebones. The lossless soundtrack is aggressive and the video is ok. I wish Shout/Scream Factory would out out a definitive version - here's hoping.

Warrior (2011)...love this movie. Edgerton and Hardy were perfect, but why Nolte got an Oscar nomination is beyond me. stellar movie.

Did you watch a foreign release? According to Amazon it comes out on Aug 23 in the U.S.

I got it early from ordering through Shout Factory. Im actually talking to customer service and perhaps get a different copy. Could be I got a wonky disc.
