I watched this Sunday for the first time...
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-2...LA-300x300.png it was basically ID4 on the ground but not that bad. The PQ was excellent and sound really good. A good popcorn movie. |

Black Death - Loved this movie. It's like a medieval version of "The Wicker Man". Gorgeous cinematography, great FX work and some excellent acting. One of my favorites I've seen this year.

Jonah Hex needed something 90 minutes or less and this fits the bill. Saw this before as a rental and that was enough but needed some filler titles at the last BBPV sale

Great looking film and any "Miike-isms" are kept in check. Could be Miike's most mature film. Good stuff! |

Gettysburg Overall am pleased with the PQ and AQ. The only real lackluster portion is the low frequency sound field. The cannon and musket fire should have some really nice tight booming bass but it's pretty muffled. The rest of the soundfield like the russling of trees or the clanking of spurs and saddles are superb

Alien - What a fantastic looking presentation.
Transformers 2 - Absolutely stupid scripting and poor humor and I actually found the video quality uneven, but the action sequences are wicked and sound excellent. as for 'Transformers 2' - on the Walmart 'IMAX' version the clarity and sharpness of the action scenes (shot in 15/70 film stock) is eye-searing |

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009) - Not very good, but better than I feared.

Hunt To Kill Stone Cold Steve Austin basically remakes Cliffhanger with a little Rambo thrown in. Wasn't expecting much and was still disappointed.

For the Sci-Fi/Fantasy Challenge:
Watchmen Director's Cut. I saw the theatrical cut when it opened in 2008, but this was the first time I saw the director's cut. I prefer this one, as the stuff I noticed that had been cut mostly came from the final act. In the theater I felt that some stuff was a bit disjointed, and here it played out more organically. It's a gorgeous Blu-ray. |
