I watched about half of The Patriot. That is one bad movie.

That is one case where I preferred the theatrical cut. The extended version released on the Blu-ray made it drag. The shorter cut wasn't a great movie but the extra footage took mediocre and threw it down the hill.

Although I admit I'm in the minority, I always liked that movie. Saw it in the theaters and picked it up on HD upon release. I admit it's totally cheesy but there was something that hooked me. Not to mention the requisite Jessica Biel underwear shot. Anyone else notice Julianne Moore in the super high shoes? SHe's 5'2", Nick Cage is 6'2". Tough to get the two shot.

I was surprised no one took this premise to network TV as a Sci-Fi show. I think it would be fairly easy to come up with a premise every week of dangerous situations this guy tries to figure out.

Righteous Kill. I actually enjoyed the movie and the PQ on this is pretty damn excellent.

Bottle Rocket and The Third Man, both last night. Hadn't seen either, enjoyed both quite a lot.

Watched Ratatouille last night for the umpteenth time.
My favorite part: when Anton Ego takes the first bite of the Ratatouille, and he has a flashback of his childhood.

Street Kings

Good disc, subpar movie. Still think it was better than Training Day, though.

No way... Training Day is borderline brilliant.

Repo! The Genetic Opera - Awesome movie, really a different movie than I would normally watch, but it was really worth the blind buy!

21 - Pretty cool movie, better than I thought it would be, good PQ!

+1. I did like Training Day, but I liked Street Kings better. Just watched Point Break. Awful transfer, but I enjoyed the movie. I thought there would be a lot more surfing in it, so that was a bit misleading.

Election. Reese Witherspoon's last good flick, decent transfer.

The kids and I watched Nightmare Before Christmas last night on Blu. Looked incredible and sounded spectacular! It's never been my favorite movie, though....I love the songs the first 2/3, but the last third of the film kind of drags for me because of a few of the songs. But I still enjoy it for the most part and the kids were enthralled. When we watch movies on the big screen, I look at their faces and just smile, content that I chose to go the projector route. :)

Wall-E this weekend, I think.....darn kids watched it without me last week when they had a day off school!

The Bank Job.

I'm a sucker for heist flicks, plus I like Jason Statham but I tend to dislike Jason Statham movies, if you know what I mean. Good, if not great, pq and a decent audio track. Great buy for $17.99 @ BB.

Rented "21" - not a great movie but worth a rental. Kate Bosworth in HD is not a bad thing!
