The Incredible Hulk Blu-ray -> Delayed in Canada

I thought I'd break this news off from the main Incredible Hulk thread, as it is worth noting on its own.

According to this thread on Blu-ray.com (and apparently AVS forum) there is an error in the manufacturing of this release (at least North of the border). Blu-ray discs of the Ang Lee's Hulk made their way into the cases for The Incredible Hulk instead. From what I read on the Blu-ray.com thread, there is apparently a recall in effect immediately to correct the issue.

I also noticed this morning that Bestbuy.ca was showing an Oct. 24 release date, which I at first thought was an error. But then I checked the item's pages on Amazon.ca and FutureShop.ca and found the same Oct. 24 release date.

So it looks like The Incredible Hulk BD is being delayed by 3 days in Canada to correct the "wrong disc" issue.

We should turn this into the 'Canada is getting screwed' thread that Logic suggested in the bargain thread... first Amazon's new import deposit and NOW YOU LAY THIS SHIT ON ME!? Damn. (sucks about Incredible Hulk but I wasn't getting mine until Thursday anyhow since it's coming from Amazon.com)

At least we've got From Dusk Till Dawn and Sin City on Tuesday to hold us over...not to mention Young People Fucking, which people should at least give a rent.

Canada seems to get better releases more often than their friends south of the border. They at least had the option of buying the Iron Man set at Best Buy with the Blu-Ray rather than the dvd only version. A couple of days without the green man isn't going to kill them.

Speak for yourself. Living on the tundra in our igloo's, hoping to avoid becoming dinner for a polar bear, the only thing we have going for us is watching The Incredible Hulk on Blu-ray.

those damn bilingual covers!

I was counting on getting the incredible hulk today and then I find out about the recall in Canada.I don't understand why Canada can't get shipment from the same suppliers as the U.S. with dvd's/blu rays etc. It's the same region for Chrissakes! Also I hate the bilingual (French and English) covers on a lot of the titles.I remember years ago they were only in English.
It's a waste of money adding the French since there is only 1 Province which is French. And some of the titles and pictures in the cover art are shrunk down to fit both formats and that bugs me.I want to support my own economy, but I prefer to have the English only cover so I sometimes buy them from the U.S.

Because facilities are available here that can author and replicate DVDs, CDs, Blu-ray, CD-ROM, DVD-ROM etc etc...

Cinram

While I agree with you, we've had bilingual packaging on DVDs since 2002. Not much we can do about it. There's language laws for packaging in Canada hence why we have them. But remember the golden rule: If there's a French language track, then the DVD/Blu-ray disc has to have bilingual packaging. Even video games have bilingual packaging now (!). It's getting ridiculous but again, what can you do?

Indeed. The rest of the country suffers because of catering to one province.

I want to support my own economy, but I prefer to have the English only cover so I sometimes buy them from the U.S.
I've been importing more since the dollar became parity last year but it's been taking a dive recently. Even today, the dollar I believe is down to 81 cents making importing DVDs and Blu-ray more expensive. But if I can avoid bilingual packaging on my favourite movies, then I will pay the price.
