Just to note, Movie Talk is the place to talk about the quality of the content of the film. HD Talk is the place to talk about the PQ/AQ/extras quality of a Blu-ray.

Noted!, but I was really really close to doing a blind buy of the bd version because of all the positive comments I read in this specific thread. So I figure it would be the best place to rant :-) and maybe give another perspective to potential buyers that have never seen the movie and expect it to be funny. I did not see a single negative comment. in this thread I mean even with Wall-E, Kungfu Panda, and TDK you see some negative posts which help you balance your opinion and realize that a movie that seemed so perfect on the first viewing maybe have some flaws, and vice versa.

Sorry to critizice this "sacred" movie, but other than looking gourgeous in my 73" HDTV I did not find it good. I shall go to the movie talk forum to read why people thought it was really funny (all comedies have 2 or 3 funny sequences but only the great ones have one after the other one from beginning to end, and this one did not).

I didn't call the movie sacred. I found it very funny, but my favorite comedy of the year is actually Forgetting Sarah Marshall. I simply felt you would be best served in knowing where to go for a more substantial discussion of the film, versus the Blu-ray release.

Anyone with a Samsung bdp1500 having issues with this disc? Mine will not play. Firmware version is 2.0 and nothing. Works perfect in PS3, BDP1, Panasonic DM30.

I gotta say, thought this movie was pretty darn good. I mean, it wasn't a big ole' stupid fest like You Don't Mess With the Zohan, or The Love Guru, both some of the worst films I had seen in a long time.

I didn't think that Tropic Thunder was the funniest movie ever or anything, but still...

This was a great DVD. One of the Best of the year. The extras I found to be much more enjoyable than the movie itself. The Rain of Madness stuff was gold.
Something I did find to be funny was the retard PSA on the first disk. Did Dreamworks offer to put this PSA on the disk to appease the tards after they complained about the movie when it was released? Its just kinda funny watching the movie (and all of its content about going "full retard") and then watching a sappy PSA with lines like "They only deserve one 'R' word...Respect."

I did not see it either on the Blu-ray.

I thought this was pretty damn funny. Got the BD for Christmas and loved the movie. 4 stars from me.

I never ended up finding it. I figured it would be on youtube or something. This thing has become my white whale.
