First day buy for me. Which I didn't think I'd ever say regarding a movie starring Jack Black, Ben Stiller,
RDJ is the shit here, though.

I think next to Dark Knight this is my most anticipated Blu-Ray of the season. I missed it in theaters due to laziness. But in a way, I'm glad my first viewing with the be the director's cut.

I can see this work on BD, if done right. Regardless, definite purchase for me.

What is the difference between the director's cut and theatrical release? The Blu-ray which includes the director's cut only includes 13 extra minutes. Is there a list of the added scenes?

Pretty great disc. The commentary is alright, but the funniest extra is easily Rain of Madness, the half hour mockumentary that Justin Theroux and Steve Coogan put together.

I haven't seen this and just bought it at BB. It would have been nice for it to include the theatrical version. I always like having the option to see what was shown at the theater. Oh well...I'll rent the dvd sometime.

I picked this up last night but I haven't watched it yet. I thought it was great when I saw it in opening weekend. I'm waiting for the weekend to re-watch it. The disc seems to have a healthy amount of bonus materials, which is pretty great too. I might have to listen to that commentary track.

Such a good movie! Just saw it for the first time last night and loved it. The BR presentation was definitely top-notch

Dissapointed
I don't know what movie you all saw. Sorry to rant but this was sold to me like a comedy, like the best comedy of the year and in some posts like almost as good as the Dark Knight. But It wasn't funny, it was not a good war movie, it wasn't even a good parody (on par to the scary movies series which is sad).
I did not see it at the movies but was first in Blockbuster on Tuesday morning to rent the BD unrated copy and I want my $ and time back :-). Hopefully I save somebody from a bad "blind buy". Think of the hype of Jude Apatow movies and then realizing the movie was over rated.
The PQ was great, acting was great (The wife did not recognize Tom Cruise until I told her it was him), the initial trailers were interesting due to their cheesiness, the platton like beginning of the movie was interesting (but on par to scary movie or Weird Al Yankovic rambo parody) but the movie did not turn out to be funny. I think my first real chuckle was when "somebody" stepped on a mine . After that, there were a few laughs but not much (maybe at the end when Stiller runs back to the chopper under fire with "his kid" on his back stabbing him). There was a movie with Larry the cable guy where national guard soldiers on their way to Iraq get dropped off accidentally in rural Mexico and they think they are in Iraq. That movie was funnier than this one without having the big name actors and budget (not saying it was good, just had a few more funny scenes).
