Eagle Eye - 12/28/08

Is there any word on it coming to Blu-ray? I know it is kinda early.

Release dates don't generally come that early, but my guess would be for a Blu-ray disc at the very tail end of this year or early January. A fairly safe rule of thumb is to add 3 months from opening weekend. Most movies, give or take a couple of weeks, usually hit home video around then.

It may just be a rumor, but http://www.releaselists.com/ had it listed for Dec. 26, and the listing was added before it opened in theaters.

I really, truly hate when movies that do well in some way are released less than 3 months after their release. Don't people have patience?

Yeah but the Holiday shopping season (Black Friday - New Years) is only so long.

12/26 is a Friday. Just think how many people will be in the middle of four day weekend with gift cards from the day before.

So many people will move to the stores on the 26th and that is a really smart idea to have the release date be the 26th. If that ends up happening we'll see HUGE numbers for Eagle Eye on day on.

12/26 is a Friday...interesting. Wouldn't be the first time a DVD is releases on a Friday (Ghost Ship?).

People love to spend gift cards right away.

Lots of movies usually street on December 26th... I know last year The Kingdom and Eastern Promises got bumped up in Canada to a few days earlier because December 26th is our Boxing Day, similar to Black Friday from what I gather, and getting shelf space for new releases is tough with all the sales and doorcrashers. I know this movie is getting critically shit on, but I liked it and will definitely be buying the blu-ray.

Re: Eagle Eye - 12/28/08

Here's a first for me. Bought Eagle Eye BD at Target the other day. Opened it up tonight.

The disc inside is the DVD.

Was hoping to come here and see that it was a common problem, but apparently not.
