Problem with Godfather Trilogy
The first disc of the blu-ray Godfather trilogy is not readable. I have a Panasonic BMP-BD30 and have none of the problems others have had with various discs. Is anyone else having this problem?

Do you have the latest firmware for the BD30? The current firmware is 2.4. Here is the page with instructions for checking your player and downloading a new file:

The last couple of firmwares have specifically targeted playback problems with Paramount discs.

The US site always seems to be messed up. This is the link typically posted in the long AVS forum thread for the BD30.

Yeah I was going to say I don't recall there being the typical firmware warning in this set.
That said, I think most early adopters have come across a disc that required a firmware update right away, so updating my firmware is the first thing I think to do if a disc is unplayable.

Is anyone hearing some weird sound, almost like static, on the TrueHD track at certain points during The Godfather Part II? It occurs at various points during the movie, but two time stamps I can definitely point other people towards are:
00:19:16
03:12:14
I don't hear it on the mono track or any of the foreign language ones. I am playing the discs on a PS3 and have tried 2 different copies bought from 2 different stores with the same result.

Well, I don't hear any weird sounds, but there's a fucking horse's head in my bed.

I'm playing my discs on a PS3 which is decoding the TrueHD track and sending it to a Yamaha RX-V1700 receiver via HDMI. I've talked with people at the Home Theater Forum and some of them who are running different setups are hearing it too.
And are you sure you're watching the right movie? The horse's head was in the first one!
