Re: Blu-ray Custom Cover Art
Consecutive posts from DarthVong and Corvin? It's the return of an era!
(I know I'm a couple of weeks late in noticing that, but better late than never. )
Nowhere near the quantity I had going for HD DVD, but I have some custom Blu-ray covers going at:

Re: Blu-ray Custom Cover Art
Glad to see the movement hasn't died. I eventually stopped after the demise of DVDcoverart.com. I've been tempted to start up again, or at least do some conversions of my old covers for Blu-Ray.
DarthVong - I like the new(er) Mad Max. I still have your original three on my shelf.

Re: Blu-ray Custom Cover Art
I too find the quality of these custom covers to be amazing.
I have searched several times with no luck, but has anyone seen any for the Planet of the Apes set? I would really like to get them into regular cases as that box they came in just doesnt fit in a convenient place.
Thanks to anyone who can help.

I've never used custom covers but you guys are very talented. I do agree that the custom covers are usually better than the actual covers.

Re: Blu-ray Custom Cover Art
Even though it still says HD-DVD on it, this is amazing.

Re: Blu-ray Custom Cover Art
Good day all,
I am new to here, but not to the Blu-World. I have a pretty good collection, but not to the amount of some members. However, I have started my own series of covers as you can see. It all started when I began buying Blus and found that since I live in Canada, studios have to put french on their covers. This is frekin' annoying since it makes the spines way too busy. Plus, apparently the french can not tell the what the movie is when it says "Clerks", so it must be written again saying Le Clerks ... I mean, come on, seriously? Not to mention it is for Canadian french, and they had better understand English!!
Sorry, enough of that ranting. Therefore, I decided to start looking for custom covers, and found that there were way too many great ones to choose from or it was a title that was exceedingly difficult to find a cover for. So, I came up with my Blu-Series. I figured, I don't care if the information is on the back (I already know what the movie is about, and don't care what subtitles are on it). Besides, most of what is on the covers is dumb studio information that none of us care about. All I wanted was a clean, uniform spine, a great colour, and to use the best poster art I can find for the front/back/spine. These covers are the result. Now, my collection is prefect and looks great.
The style has caught on and I have found myself making more for other titles so others could use my same theme. I have made over 130 Blu-Series covers as requests from others, and am still working on more.
You can see more on my Blu-Series linked in my signature below. The link goes to a post of mine on a Blu-Ray.com forum.
I have also just finished a chunk of printing and have now added the majority of titles I want to eventually have on Blu-Ray to the rest of my collection; some aren't even announced, but I can still hope that they will soon. I love seeing them all up there, but hate not having them...
Among some of my most wanted Blu-Rays:
Apollo 13
Alive
The Great Escape
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
Team America: World Police
I hope to be set for a while
All my movies with multiple sequels are combined as sets and indicated as so (Ocean's Set, Austin Powers Set, Batman 'Over The Ages' Set, etc.)
Also, each of my TV seasons have been done with identical front and back images with differentiating spines, the season number is also included.
They are displayed on my shelf!
-
They aren't fancy, but they are clean and neat. They use poster art or DVD art (If only available). Some are unique where the cover art stretches the front and back (like Up). The Sets try to use art from each of the movies released...that's all!
Oh, and for those who can't tell, they are sorted as main titles first, then sets, then series, then TV, all sorted by year.
Like em' or don't like em', just thought I'd let you know what I've done!
To see all that I have done, just follow my signature link to my Cover site.
