Again....could somebody tell me why Disney gives a damn about releasing this in Mexico over us first? Considering you know...it was made here and whatnot. I could get my cousin to get for me, cuz she lives in Mexico, but....I like to have my US packaging for US movies.

I don't think that's the case. I mean, I don't think Disney decided "Mexico first, then next year..."; I bet they decided on a worldwide release, Disney decided afterwards to hold off in the U.S. for marketing reasons, and Disney Mexico just figured they might as well go ahead as planned anyway.

Wouldn't Disney USA have something to say over that too? I mean...if they released it here first, wouldn't the rest of the world wet themselves like crazy cuz they know they'd get it too eventually after us?

The rest of the world is kind of used to getting things after us. For a catalog title, though, only people like us would really notice.

Since it looks like Dumbo is going to take forever to show up, I decided to pick it up from Amazon.co.uk.

The cost was about $20 not including shipping and after the vat discount.

The date they have shown for the release is March 22nd! =D

Nope, its region locked. All the disney classic animations are region locked respectively, whereas newer animations & pixars are in fact region free.

Yup, but I use a pc blu ray drive and BD Region Tray =)

Blu Ray players can all play international discs, they've just been locked not to.

The region tray application allows you to switch back and forth between regions on your pc blu ray drive without using up one of your five switches.

Just google! Google is your friend! =p

I'm not sure if we can post links to things like that, but it should be one of, or the first result in google when you search bd region tray.

BTW, as far as I'm aware it only works with Power DVD and TMT, so as long as you're using one of those, you should be fine. (And why wouldn't you be anyways!)

The DVD looks pretty good for it's age. I can't see it getting a Blu release, at least not at the rate Disney is releasing it's back catalogue on Blu.

Disney World is going to have a pretty significant Dumbo expansion at the Magic Kingdom next year. My guess is that they want to tie the two together here in the States.

Anyone know what's up with the animated Alice In Wonderland? I'm seeing dates for a re-release of the dvd for the end of March.

It seems very odd they wouldn't release the blu-ray around the same time to take advantage of the new movie coming out...

IF we do get a BD release of it (and with Disney's crazy constantly switching catalog schedule, that is a BIG if), it is looking like it will probably be at the same time that the new live action one is released onto BD/DVD....
