Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicle BD may have outsold the SD.

This is interesting. On DvdSpot.com they have several Stats that are posted. The Top 20 Active DVDs show the most active DVDs (added, watched, reviewed) in the last 7 days.

The Blu-ray version of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles had 89 "changes". The SD versions, including the Best Buy exclusive add up to 82 changes. It's hard to believe that there would be more sales of the BD version than SD. Maybe it's just that "videophiles" use services like DVDSpot or something else entirely.

The BD version of T:SCC was street priced nearly the same as the SD and many got it cheaper, through Warner. Hopefully, the pricing, like on this title becomes a trend.

Does anyone know where to find the real numbers on DVDs sold, of the different formats? I'm not sure where to get that info? Of course that would be more accurate than these stats from DVDspot.

Dexter: The Second Season (97 / 4.68)
Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicle... Blu-Ray(89 / 4.23)

It didn't. I 100% guarantee you of that. If the BD gets 10% of the DVD sales that would be great and hopefully pushes Warner to release more TV on BD.

Then again, it gives them the A-OK we are willing to accept standard DD5.1 over TrueHD...

I really don't understand why they're not to begin with. They already have the content in HD. Am I missing something? Does it really cost that much more to author a BR disc over a DVD?

I think it has more to do with opportunity cost than the actual sticker price of production.

Right, they're not going to plunk money into something yet that they're not sure would get the sales.

At the end of the VHS life cycle, they were still about $100, for the first 3 months or so after release. They were really sticking it to the rental places. I'm sure the studios would like to keep prices high as long as possible.

VHS tapes were always pretty high for the ones that didn't get day and date released in stores along with the rental stores.

Exactly. Why push BR when DVD has 100 times the market base?

And I don't think DVDSpot can be considered a good resource for tracking sales. Most people I know have never heard of nor do they have any use for an online DVD database. Most consumers just don't need something like DVDSpot. That would mean that most users there are your more hardcore collector types, who are already more inclined to have gone Blu-ray than the average consumer.

Not to mention, many have separate Blu-ray, HD DVD, and SD DVD accounts.
