It's quite simple really... If it's on BD, you like the movie/show, price is good, buy buy buy. If it's on BD, pricey, not sure it's good, rent rent rent. If it's not on BD, it's a good movie, get it on DVD, b/c it's cheap cheap cheap. If it's not on BD, it's a good movie, and not cheap on dvd, well, wait wait wait.

So far works for me and i saved a bunch comparing what i spent back in 2000 when vhs was replaced by dvds... DVDs actually push BD w/o even knowing it. Think about it, BD rental is almost instant, b/c dvd rental services are already in motion. Unlike vhs and dvd transition times...

When it comes to Projection systems (blu ray projectors? projectors where you attach your DVD player or blu ray player to it?), are the blu rays a huge improvement over DVDs when projected?

Absolutely.

I saw reviews of some "poor" or "mediocre" HD-DVDs that said the PQ was not worth upgrading. Even those "mediocre" discs are a good improvement on my 106" IMO.
