Wallet buster this week:

Doomsday
H & K 1 and 2
Top Gun
All 4 Jack Ryan
Beowulf
Dark City
Lost Boys
Stargate: Continuum

Thankfully the selling of my HD DVD's of the recalled Jack Ryan HD DVD's and my Top Gun and Beowulf HD DVD's will soften the blow.

I have to call shenanigans on the Doomsday blu-ray that forces you to watch the extra features only as picture-in-picture during the feature, instead of allowing to the option to watch them separately like the SD dvd does.

Why do they pull this shit?

I think it was because Doomsday was a BD-25, and they just didn't have the room to do both.

Great review as always, you talked me into it. I've got a Reward Zone coupon to burn anyways.

25GB disc for sure caused it. Seems they did the same thing with The Scorpion King...but its not like anyone actually wants to buy that movie.

I'd rather buy The Scorpion King then watch Doomsday again, which was probably one of the worst movies i've seen.

Was Jack Ryan ever announced as a box set, a la HD DVD, or was that scrapped?

Well, I passed on the Doomsday blu-ray, and bought the SD-dvd instead. A $12 difference is just too much for a blind-buy, not to mention the extras snafu mentioned earlier.

Looks like Dark City, Harold & Kumar's and Doomsday are delayed in Canada...no store near me got any of them in stock. Picked up Never Back Down and going to grab Lost Boys tonight...

I did get the Dark City blu-ray - BB only had like 3 copies of it when they opened, actually, it seemed like their whole blu-ray stock had been severely depleted.

I asked the sales rep at Best Buy regarding both Harold and Kumar Blu-ray releases and he said that they pulled the release from the shelves due to some manufacturing defect. Didn't seem right.

I will probably order both from Amazon.com, they seem to be cheaper than Canadian prices.
