The Ultimate Matrix Collection BLU-RAY 10/14/08

Warner Home Video has announced that they will bring the highly anticipated 'The Ultimate Matrix Collection' to Blu-ray on October 14th. The seven-disc set will include five BD-50s - one disc for each of the three Matrix films, one for Animatrix, and one for "The Matrix Experience" - and two DVDs. Also included in the set will be a hard-cover book with photos and information from the films.

Video will be presented in 1080p VC-1 and accompanied by a Dolby TrueHD soundtrack. Extras for this release include:

3 Exclusive In-Move Experience BonusView features
35 hours of extras
Digital download of 'The Matrix'
Much more

BTW, MSRP is $129.99 (makes it $90ish on Amazon)

While I would love to have Animatrix in 1080p, I won't pay the absurd price for the Blu-ray version. Hard cover book and digital copies do nothing for me. Sucks we can't buy the movies individually (or at least Animatrix) since Warner is once again forcing us to buy the two crappy films along with the one good one. I'll hold on to my $30 HD DVD trilogy set.

This is terrible. I loved the Animatrix, but to have to buy this set again makes me cringe.

I'd love to have the Animatrix in HD, but I am NOT buying these movies again. My HD DVD set will be just fine thanks.

This title blew me away when it first came out on DVD. I expect nothing less of the Blu-ray version.

Glad to see that Warner is at least trying to improve on the HD DVD set by including the Animatrix in High-Def and throwing in additional (non-disc) supplements. Too bad about the pricing though. I am sticking to my HD set as well, as I have not yet reached that point where I feel compelled to high-def double-dip.

Price is a tad high, but hopefully Family Video or whatever will have it for less... otherwise it looks great.

The Matrix was the first DVD that I purchased. I loved the extras and the follow the white rabbit feature. Can hardly wait for the BD version.

Same here but minus the BR part. I'll wait for a drop or if I really get desparate, I'll pick up the complete trilogy on HD at Fry's.

Bullshit MSRP. I'm guessing the UK will have them as separate releases (like the Ocean's trilogy)

Glad I got that killer CC deal on the HD-DVD version.

69.97 at the Warner website with coupon. Not a bad price and I figured that will probably be the cheapest it could realistically get.

I predict massive discounts on this around Xmas time. This and the Dark Knight will be the biggest Blu-Ray related Xmas items.

Just thought I'd add that you can pre-order this from Warner Brothers for $99.95.

Be sure to use the 30% off coupon: ANWBTS for a final price of $69.95

You'd have a better chance of leaping off buildings and dodging bullets like they do....than getting some kind of previous owner deal from WB.

Previous owner deal? Where did that one come from?

Warner Home Video Store does not sell used titles. They're brand new and shipped from the replicator factory (Cinram) prior to release date to arrive close to release date.

Here's the link for The Ultimate Matrix Collection at WHV Store.

http://whv.warnerbros.com/WHVPORTAL/....jsp?OID=50122

Please note: Must buy two titles to use code ANWBTS at checkout. Shipping is free on orders over $50. Upgrading shipping does not usually mean you'll get titles any sooner.

Will stick with the HD-DVDs. I'd like the Animatrix in HD, but not that badly.

The HD-DVDs were beautiful. You blu-ray folks are going to enjoy.

I don't believe they said WHV sells used titles or has a previous owner deal. Someone just said they thought that they should have one in place.
