But there is still the question of why some of us are unable to access the BD Live features, even though our PS3s are properly set up.

Found this at Amazon, I'll try it at lunchtime...

"On my PS3

Deleted the IRON MAN under BD Data Utility (triangle to delete, circle to return to menu)
Deleted javatmp under Shared Cache Data(which is under BD Data Utility) (triangle to delete, circle to return to menu)

Started Disc 1, after ~2 minutes loaded and started Paramount Logo.

**I did this just now and within 2 to 3 minutes BD-Live is working."

I remember Knocked Up HD DVD had the same issue where some players were "downloading" the data faster than others...but the PS3 should be pretty damn fast. Unless of course everyone is trying to "download" at the same time...but even then the file is less than 20MB, right?

It's just odd to see this many issues when I can't recall a single reviewer have an issue with the title...on any player they used. But they recalled anyway and boom, new discs arrive as do problems. Very odd.

Just tried and it worked for me also. I think my frustration with this dvd is finally over but who knows. What a 1st dvd to pick as my 1st Blu-ray purchase.

That's good to hear - now I don't have to drive to Fry's and return a "good" disc!

Has anyone been able to register for BD-Live? I put in all the info for new user and get 'An unexpected error has occurred.'
(BTW, the error has 'occured'.)
I can only see the quiz as available for download.

Per bestbuy.com, 2 of my local stores are now sold out. Or only has 3 copies or less.

I wonder if it was just a glitch yesterday with BD Live that caused these problems? It seems very coincidental.

Most of them pulled their copies. Something about a recall.

I read elsewhere that their servers were overloaded yesterday and they could not keep up with demand. More servers went online overnight and supposedly things are better today. I am going to try again tonight and see if I have better luck.

Pitchman...

Make sure you do the two steps above. Delete the system file and the folder created on your PS3. You new connection will create new versions of those files and it'll load lickety-split!

Is the Target exclusive "safe"? I bought one earlier today, but if there's a chance it isn't the fixed version of the discs I may just unload it. I have a normal one on the way to me from ColumbiaHouse anyway.

Speaking of the Target set, is it just the packaging that's different or is there anything on the discs that's not on the normal version?

I was wondering the same thing since the UPC for the Target exclusive doesn't match either one posted in the first page.

Here's the Canadian disc art, found in the Future Shop steelbook.

Well, my copy was fine. And it was kick ass on BD. One of my top 10 PQ's and sound. I'm very happy!

Okay, I'm very confused by this recall thing and hope that someone can tell me if I have the correct version or not.

My UPC is #097361385747 which I believe is the defective version, right? However, my Disc 1 is blue and Disc 2 is gray, which means that it's the corrected version. The numbers on Disc 1 are...

BVDL - 033170A1
BVDL - 033170B1

So which version do I have? My UPC is wrong but the disc color is correct. My current player (BDP-S300) does not have BD Live, but I plan on getting a BD Live player soon. So even though this disc does work on my current player, will it work on one with BD Live?

Thank you so much to anyone who can clear this up for me.

am I understanding this problem correctly? People are having problems watching a movie on a physical disc because of a download from an external server for on-line material???

Hopefully I am misunderstanding this, otherwise this is enough to have to stay away from Blu-ray.

Everything is fine now. The servers were just overwhelmed on release day. It should take a total of a minute to download everything now.

On top of that, the BD-Live feature (some I.Q. test) took a matter of seconds to download.

I wonder how much of a stir this is going to cause with the people that don't know they can get around the Live for now.
I went through everything again tonight and the BD Live stuff came down quickly, no problems.

The menu for downloading the BD Live content is really lame though. It asks if you want to download the BD Live stuff, and then has a "NO YES" selection. But the colors are Blue and Yellow on the words. It wasn't obvious to me at all which one was being selected.

Great set, though
