Awesome. Big props to Universal for seemingly keeping all the extras and cuts of the film on the BD. One of the few that I'll pick up on release date without waiting for a deal.
|
Blind Buy for me... nice to see Universal going with AVC.
|
Instant purchase for me.
|
You can strike the first "r" from Nick Stoller's name. Not that you made the mistake, but just FYI.
Hopefully their Blu of Virgin will have everything from the newer 2-disc set, and then I'll just get the Apatow 3-pack, even though I'm not big on Knocked Up. |
Can we expect Knock Up out around the same time?

Definitely purchasing this.

Stop quoting :(
I have yet to see this. |
Wow Universal actually put a trailer on one of their discs, I will probably pick up the 3-pack.
|
Can't wait for this one. One of the best movies of the summer.
|
So psyched just to finally have Kristen Bell in Hi-Def
|
Mila Kunis I think actually outshone her and was hotter in the movie.
|
^Agreed. I loved this movie and can't wait for the BD...glad to hear Universal is pulling out all the stops.
|
Spoiler:
|
Love, love, love this movie.

Great film. A lot of people missed out on this at the box office - I hope it gets more attention on home video.
|
This is awesome news...I'll be getting this. And if the other two movies have all their previous features and cuts, I might get them too. The Knocked Up HD DVD for some reason didn't include all the stuff from the 2-Disc DVD.

Yeah, it would be nice to have clarification that the double-disc sets are gonna be the ones appearing on Blu. I'd hate to find out that we only got the one-disc Virgin features.

Easily one of the best releases of a theatrical film this year. Packed with tons of features!
|
I don't know why it doesn't show up in a search, but I had a thread created awhile back:

I thought I saw a thread before...and searched...but nothing turned up. Very odd. Feel free to merge/delete this.
|
P.S. This is coming with a slip cover! Woo Hoo!
Too bad Knocked Up/40 YO do not... :-( |
Universal is certainly doing a great job with their BDs so far. DTS HD MA on all discs and providing some nifty slipcovers. Makes WB look even more pathetic since they're still releasing titles with DD 5.1 audio.

Is it confirmed that Knocked Up/40 YO will be both Rated and Unrated cuts for BD? |
On a similar note, still no pre-order for the 3-pack at Amazon. :(
|
Oh boy, a visual commentary, a video commentary, a theatrical commentary AND an extended commentary!
I presume these are all the same thing. I'll be getting the three pack. |

Audio differences mean nothing to me for these releases since its a comedy. I can't imagine DTS MA being much of an improvement over DD+ for something so dialog driven. |

http://www.highdefdigest.com/news/sh..._Blu-rays/1920 By the way, in the event we can't get reviews done by street date, it appears that Universal has skimped again on the extras on their Blu-ray titles. John Carpenter's The Thing and Zack Snyder's Dawn of the Dead seem to have only the audio commentary and Picture-in-Picture options (the previous HD-DVD and DVD releases had a lot more extras). George Romero's Land of the Dead does seem to have some extras, but not all of what was on the previous DVD and HD-DVD has been included (the documentary and a couple other things seem to be missing). Just know that so you don't sell your existing discs in case you wanted to upgrade to Blu-ray, but you also wanted to keep ALL the extras. |
