I just bought a new shelf for my BD collection from Walmart last week. I should have new pictures very soon.

I mix mine now too, was too confusing for everyone else

I just wish I never bought that stupid, ugly Harry Potter set and just got the individual movies. It's just too big and awkward

I feel very inferior, having only purchased 44 blu-rays since February. Hard to buy when you have no income!

its not about feeling inferior - you can only purchase what you can afford.

I commend that, there are alot of guys that go into debt because of all of their purchases...

I would plug the movies I'm selling but that wouldnt help ya!

Here's a quick pic of my collection. I haven't alphabetized it yet, it's all just simply shoved into that middle shelf for the time being. I'll probably take the time to sort it out next week.

just counted all my titles...

125 BD
117 HD

it seems as another title is added to BD my collection of HD is dwindling... (117 is still pretty plump - it kinda reminded me of my SD's and how much weight they lost in early '07)

Oh - the old days!

I'd hate to read a review that was nothing but a super-long run-on sentence.

But yeah, if he wants to have a pee-ing contest, there are several here that would make him harken back to his middle school locker room days.

By the way, just to stay on topic:

I just started getting Blu-Rays a few weeks ago, so my collection is just starting to grow. I'm not going to double dip too much, but from here on out all new movies that I purchase will be BD.

I have a few HD-DVDs... but they are mostly freebies and trades.

I can't seem to bring myself to mix them too.... and I consider my meager 600+ DVD collection to be small potatoes in these parts.
Is it sad that I can pick out the 5 Free HD DVD rebate movies you got just by glancing at your collction?

I'm trying to be picky about the Blu's I buy. So far I've been good about Netflixing the new releases first to see if they are good enough to buy on Blu. And I'm being selective about what I double-dip on.

Here is my relatively small collection so far:

For what it's worth, I like (& have more respect) for people's collections that actually show descerning taste, & a value for films they love (at least that is why I buy my movies) as oppose to those that are clearly just buying (or attempting to buy) every single Blu-Ray that has been released.

The problem is trying to judge what other people like. That is a pretty slippery slope. I have 1000 films at least on DVD, HD and LD and probably only own a quarter of the stuff I would like to own if I could afford it. Not every film in the collection has to be Citizen Kane to be worth owning.

Almost true.

I did trade my Troy DC for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with another DVDTalker, but yup, there in there (I have only opened The Rundown, and the other three - far left - are still wrapped).

Good eye.

Here's my meager collection. I'll probably end up mixing them in with my regular DVD collection in the near future...

Wow, that Dirty Harry box really sticks out from the rest. Literally.

Someone was complaining about the Harry Potter box, but I think it looks nice. I hope they enlarge it once all the movies are done, I'll probably hold off buying it until then, especially since I haven't even seen the DVDs yet.

And I didn't even notice until now that my "Blu-ray" collection actually has more HD-DVDs than Blu-rays.

I agree that isn't what I meant, I absolutely love a good bad movie. But I like a collection where I can look at a person's collection & see there tastes. I think if you look at my DVDs you can see generally what I am into, I just like one's collection, like the original poster I was quoting, who say they actually are picky & buy the movies they actually like. Clearly there are people here that do not do that, & are just buying every single blu-ray released. It's just not possible to like every single movie that comes out, but while they obviously won't admit it, that is what some are trying to do.
