Mine pulls my hat off my head when running Folding@Home, not bad other than that. It's on top off my Pioneer LD player, in a Lovan Sovereign rack.

Open component rack next to the tv and I don't hear a peep out of it. And my Integra DTC 9.8 generates 100 times more heat than my PS3. I could probably heat my entire living room in winter with that thing.

On a shelf of my open glass TV stand. Never had any issues with heat or noise.
