What's your favorite non-movie TV HD programming?

C.S.I. is just stunning. I find myself watching eps I have already seen just to see them in HD. That first pan through Vegas is amazing.

What channels do you like? Smithsonian, Discovery, Biography... ? What kind of programming are you watching in HD?

Lost looks absolutely stunning in HD, plus it's a kickass show.

Outside of Discovery though, I sadly don't get many cable channels in HD yet.

Given that everything I watch, outside of Scrubs, is in HD it's hard to choose. Lost looks phenomenal though. Heroes is up there too. I'm not a fan of Letterman, but his show looks amazing in HD compared to Leno. On the other hand the CW's feed of Smallville is always has pixilation issues for me.

Heroes. And certainly any sporting events, like NBA or NFL or NCAAB, look so much better!

Any of the CSI's look fantastic.

I actually like History HD's Ice Road Truckers.

Another vote for Lost. It's the best looking show in HD at the moment IMHO.

Lost is great, although I actually preferred the S1 DVD's upconverted to the S2 HD broadcast (was watching both around the same time). I think the HD broadcasts from ABC have gotten better over the past couple seasons. Could be a provider thing too.

The Unit has always looked great in HD. Great sound too.

Can't believe no one has mentioned Pushing Daisies yet! That one really looks quite stunning in HD. Can't wait for those Blu-Rays to come out ...

CSI (any), Lost, and Heroes are the series that immediately came to my mind as well.

I only just got Sci-Fi HD about 3 or 4 episodes ago. I don't think it's anything spectacular. Certainly not on the level of Lost or Pushing Daisies.

+1 on Lost and Pushing Daisies. The latter is a show that demands to be watched in HD. I mistakenly recorded the Standard-Def feed one week and it was a pale shadow of the HD experience. Even my wife, who usually can't tell the difference between an EP-speed VHS tape and 1080p HDTV, commented that she couldn't believe it was the same show.

A series that rarely gets a lot of attention is Reaper. The VFX can be pretty dodgy, but the show has consistently nice picture quality in all other respects.

Every show is on break now. Though ABC (I think) will be airing Pushing Daisies over the summer.

Awesome, I get to catch up on Lost

Anyone else like all the Biography, Discovery, National Geographic, Smithsonian kind of programming?

Nature looks stunning, just stunning. Especially water.

Sports programs look very good, especially golf and soccer when done right.

It is ABC. Pushing Daisies had a truncated first season because of the writers' strike (only 9 episodes). I sure HOPE that ABC repeats it over the summer. I should remember to program my TiVO HD to record repeats and first runs for that season pass!!!!
