Is Reservoir Dogs worth buying?

I love this movie and i want to buy it but i notice the bad review here http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/27269...-dogs/?___rd=1 especially with the video quality. Should i wait for a hopeful remaster in the near future or is this you feel is as good as it gets. I have to admit, that review stalled my buying purchase.

I wouldn't upgrade. I'm happy with my gas can edition. That review shows Lionsgate did a half-assed job in mastering the blu ray.

I've seen this film countless times in various formats, and the BD is the best I've seen the film look (I haven't seen the import HD DVD). Could it be improved? Almost certainly, the transfer does have issues. But it does look better than the DVD, and is usually pretty inexpensive, so for me it was worth the money (however, I'd be happy to double dip if something better comes along). I'll be the first to admit that the extras on the disc are absolute crap though. That was very disappointing.

I myself have the Dutch Filmworks HD DVD, which is a great little find.

The blu-ray is better than the DVD so yeah buy it. The blu-ray was the triple dip for me.

I also went for this disc, which is superior to the lackluster Blu-Ray IMO

jericho, so you watched both and compared?

i've watched it a few times, and i'm not sure what the reviewer is talking about, or any of the other negative comments.

I guess i'm the same when it comes to any kind of review for something. It has no impact on me buying or purchasing it whether reviewer states that he/she likes a film or not. or in this case knocks the PQ or AQ.

if you're gonna blast the PQ , then at least back it up with some screen shots.

didn't know what the reviewer was talking about, or any of the HD DVD fans were as well.

the first 3 link on google when you type in "Reservoir Dogs blu-ray review" are

DVD AUTHORITY- VIDEO Rating 4.0 out of 5
Blu-ray.com - 4.0 out of 5
and dvdtown- who doesn't give a number rating but states this
"Visuals are certainly the strength of this release."

even 4 out of 5 on a low budget indie flick, as far as picture quality is fine by me.
though then again, i'd make up my own mind.

Not sure about any recent DVD or the Blu-ray, but I seem to remember that in the first two editions of Reservoir Dogs on DVD there was a line or two that was dropped. Has that been restored on the Blu-ray?

^^ Never mind, I found the answer. The lines in questions have been restored.
