I'm happy its in both - If you want to post experiences or wishes for the title without clogging up the announcements portion of the forum these are exceptable by me.

I want to know whats going to be on this version.

I wasn't suggesting that this thread should not have been posted - sorry if it came across that way. I like these individual threads where we can discuss each title specifically. My comment was more informational, so that people reading this thread would know it's already been posted in the announcements thread, since that one can be difficult to sift through.

We can just turn this thread into a discussion of this particular release once it hits the shelves. Thanks for the heads up on its release!!!

I wonder if this will be a book case themed release? I love them.

Edit: Duhh. It is! Jack really looks like Hugh Jackman in that picture...

I believe France is getting this one in August. Good to see we're getting it earlier.

From Blu-ray.com--
Warner Home Video has announced One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest: 35th Anniversary Ultimate Collector's Edition for release on September 7. This edition will contain unique collectibles honoring the film and its legacy, such as playing cards, posters, character cards, pre-production correspondence and movie trivia.

Disc contents are the same as in the Digibook release from July 2008:

* Audio Commentary
* The Making of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
* Deleted Scenes
* Theatrical Trailer

I actually like this approach. Release the box 'o trinkets version a year or so later rather than make us wait for the non-bloated version. Now if they would only start releasing the non-baby book versions at the same time as the digibooks with a $5 msrp reduction...

The disc is identical, so you should only pick this one up if you really want the physical extras and are willing to pay a premium for them.

More than happy with my digibook. Just wish they'd release more of the damn things.

As long as they have the same playing cards featured in the movie, then it'll make many happy.

I've got the digibook and I wouldn't mind more releases coming out in them. The Rocker doesn't deserve one but I think that they would be great for Criterion releases.

Re: One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest-July 15

I have been meaning to pick this movie up on Blu-ray but I don't know if I want this collectors box version or whatever it is. This type of thing usually doesn't appeal to me, but I do like the movie a lot. Guess it just will depend if the price is right.

While I haven't picked up the digibook yet, I'll probably just go with that release when I do pick this up.
