I don't think any B&M retailer will have these lower than $19.99. I expect every store to have them for $24.99.

Some members at blu-ray.com have spotted both Mummy films at Blockbuster. I'm sure they're at least $24.99 there, but if you want them early, that may be the place to get them.

The word going around is that Wal-Mart will stock them for $19.99, although Wal-Mart's always been a YMMV situation.

My Walmart had been usually $5 lower than the normal Best Buy price. But I've noticed lately that some of their newer titles are being priced the same. They have Men in Black for $24.99, which is a prime candidate for $19.99 pricing there. They've gotten in a few more that are not discounted as much as they normally would be.

I don't know if I should buy the two movies now or wait until they release the Trilogy box set?
Here is the info:

Aside from how important it is to have them in a box, I guess it also may depend on whether you think The Scorpion King should be included or not, because it sounds like the box won't have it.

Artman 07-16-08 02:34 AM

Yeah I'm in the same boat... can't decide whether to pick em up now or wait for a boxset... Basically comes down to having a box and perhaps a cheaper price vs getting them now and using the ticket credit. Truly these are the hard decisions in life.

I'd like to think Fry's would have them for 19.99 but they've been pricing a lot of new 29.99 list stuff as 22.99 lately.

Per Speedy's thread, Circuit City will have the Mummy films for $19.99 each.

They are at D V D C O R N E R . N E T, for some reason dvdtalk removes the name when typed together.

Excerpt from the Trilogy box set article... "Yes, we are working on a Blu-ray edition, a MUMMY Trilogy Pack with all three films (no surprise), an Ultimate Edition with over 20-minutes of deleted scenes and of course the Uncut Edition with more violence than what is being released into theaters."

So does this imply the box set only gets the Theatrical version and the Ultimate and Uncut versions of Mummy 3 are sold separately? I was thinking of waiting for the trilogy box set but don't want to be forced into the theatrical should I decide I'd perfer the Uncut or the Ultimate editions.

Just the first and second for me. But that's enough for free movie tickets for my wife and me.

I was planning on going to CC tomorrow. I hope they don't do their magical "they're out of it" routine.

Well, they weren't sold out of it yet, they hadn't gotten it!

I was told that they get it shipped "direct" and hadn't received it yet. Great business practice to advertise something and not have it.

So I went to Wal-Mart and got them for the same price.

I really wonder how CC even stays in business.

I'd just take their ad and bring it to BestBuy to pricematch. :D

Yeah, that would have been my next step. But Wal-Mart had them for the same price (I figured they would) so...

rexinnih 07-22-08 05:47 PM

This was my first pricematch at BB and now tonight, I'll be with my High-def Mummy.

Bluelitespecial 07-22-08 05:58 PM

Mummy, Mummy Returns Blu-rays are 17.99 at Kmart this week.

The K-Marts closed in Madison some years ago.

Bluelitespecial 07-22-08 06:02 PM

they might have that same price at kmart.com.

I hadn't been to CC in months and now I know why. I hate that store. They also didn't have a single copy of the ADVERTISED BD versions of The Mummy films. They only had 1 copy of 21 and it's a freakin' new release. BB was close by so I paid $25 for The Mummy. Yeah, it was $5 extra, but it's in my damn hands.

And shipping is...? Besides, didn't know that and if I had I still didn't really want to wait. And sometimes when you buy a disc online it may not have the free movie ticket. I wouldn't want to take that chance even if it's pretty small.

Edit: Hearing about the internet order copies without the tickets I guess my buying at a store to make sure I got the tickets was pretty smart.

Yep, that's where I just bought mine. Not bad, especially since each one comes with a free movie ticket to see the new Mummy movie!

Jamers 07-23-08 03:23 PM

Well I buckled and bought both of these from Amazon for $19.95 each. The sales tax and gas cost to drive to Kmart would have negated the $4 savings anyway. So here's hoping I can use the free tickets at my local AMC.
