How do you know that you 1080/24 is working?
In December when I first got my A-35 player I noticed that it needed a firmware upgrade and so I asked a friend to download the firmware and I installed it not knowing which upgrade it was. Since that time I heard what 1080/24 was and the problems with the firmware disabling 1080/24. At the time I had set up my player I only set it for 1080. Since learning more about 1080/24, I have since set my player for 1080/24. However I can never tell if its on. When 1080/24 is in use does the player indicate in the window? All I have ever seen displayed is 1080p, Adv. disc. How can you tell? Or have I lost it with my firmware update?
Thanks in Advance!

Not sure what display you have, but my display will report the input resolution and frequency when I hit display on my Samsung DLP, so I will see 1920x1080 @ 60Hz for 1080p60, 1920x1080i @ 60Hz for 1080i60, and so forth.
My display is not 24Hz capable, so I have not put my players into 1080p24 mode to see what would happen.
My understanding is benefit of 24p is supposed to be a much smoother picture for film-based material. That would be one way to tell.

Kefrank-
My player only displays on the screen 1080p. I will look at the manual of my TV because you make a good point that my TV might not support it( in my set up I have indicated up to 1080p24.
