I mean, I could. Or you could just be nice and tell me, thus saving me the trouble.

Being "nice" is one thing, but sometimes even it can't cover the expense of laziness. :)

I could be nice and tell you, thus saving you the trouble... or, I could be SUPER nice and help you learn how to solve your own problems, thus saving us all incalculable further trouble in the future!

Gee, I'm awesome. Where's my cookie?

It is like anything else, I might be a big fan but I haven't seen everything.

Same goes for Ridley Scott, I love him, but I have not seen 1492. And until recently (2 years ago) I had never seen Blade Runner.

I understand where you guys are coming from, but now we've gone on to clutter the thread about what should or shouldnt be done and how a simple question should or shouldnt be answered, rather than one of you just giving me the answer.

It's okay to repeat things in a thread. It gives less frequent readers an opportunity to hear necessary bits of information.

Meanwhile, you could be using the effort you put into this post to read back through the thread and find that answer! Crazy, isn't it?

Whee! This is fun.

Agreed 100%. The new case is tasteful and durable, and it also looks smart sitting next to either BDs or DVDs. (The CC logo and spine number line up seamlessly with those on the DVD cases even though the case is shorter.) Big thumbs up.

I'm beginning to think that the clear case was just for the booklet and not an all out change to faze out the flimsy paper ones.

This is pretty cool.

Vote For the Next Criterion Collection Blu-ray Release

Choices are:

Au Revoir Les Enfants
Down By Law
Howards End
Kwaidan
Picnic at Hanging Rock

Peter Becker makes an argument for each release. It's a shame we have to pick but it's better than none I suppose.

Scott27 04-28-09 05:42 PM

Re: Criterion releases on Blu-Rays

Choose which of five titles you want Criterion to release on Blu-ray. Supposely, the winning film will be released later this year.

Vote for the next Criterion BD @ Amazon

Nominees: Au Revoir Les Enfants, Down By Law, Howards End, Kwaidan, and Picnic at Hanging Rock. Voting ends 5/25

Edit: Looks like I was just beaten out with this

Re: Criterion releases on Blu-Rays

That''s a pretty cool idea. But there are absolutely countless films I'd rather them release next before any of those poll options. Starting with some Goddard on Blu.

Also, I bet Howard's End wins that poll, for no other reason than it's the movie of the five that people know the most.

It's also the one film out of five I have absolutely zero interest in, on Blu or otherwise. I voted for Kwaidan!

I won't take that bet. :)

Come on, everybody- help me put Kwaidan at least in second!

Me too, that would look great in Blu!

I'd also want Kwaidan, but only if it's the uncut version.

Either or for me between Picnic at Hanging Rock, a film Criterion never did justice to on DVD, and Au revoir les enfants. Went with Au revoir les enfants.
