BUT its from the director of Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind and Dave Chappelle's Block Party... *ahem*

..for some reason this movie kinda reminded me of a Tyler Perry movie.

But for all you white kids who think your hip - its got Mos Def in it!!

My question is, if this becomes the norm, how much of a backlash will there be from DVD buyers when they have to wait an extra week for The Dark Knight or the new Indiana Jones?
Another question is, are they actually releasing this a week early, or delaying the DVD? I guess we'll never know. I kind of hope it's the latter, because I don't want them to start rushing them out and possibly putting out lower quality releases (although a week probably doesn't mean much).

As for consumers seeing this on the shelf and then asking "where's the regular DVD?", I'm not sure that will happen much, because most people not interested in BD won't be looking there anyway. It would only happen in stores that put out their BD releases next to the corresponding DVD releases rather than separating them.

Ug. Even if they want to use a "low-profile" release, at least pick one which people would want to pick up in Hi-def. Just what I need, a clearer picture of Jack Black.

I'm actually starting to get quite annoyed of Jack Black - I liked him earlier in his career, but now his flute hand shit is getting old.

lol. According to TheDigitalBits, the week-early thing was merely a type-o.

It was a nice wet-dream while it lasted though

I didn't think it warranted a new thread but excitingly the Blu-Ray, unlike the SD, has all the bonus features from R2 including a half-hour making of documentary, a tribute to Fats and more. No commentary, but hey, at least I don't have to import.

Exciting!

I was pretty tempted to buy this, but the guy on G4 said the extra features are pretty weak (ie: no extended versions of the 'sweded' films).

I'll definitely rent this at the very least.

About an hour or so worth of additional special features and nothing is that great. I too was hoping for the complete "Sweded"' versions of the films. Ghostbusters and Rush Hour 2 were hilarious!

I know I'd double-dip for these in the future.
