Southland Tales: when? (Blu-Ray)

Did a search, couldnt find anything about this. Does anyone have any idea when we're likely to see this on Blu-ray? i know Kelly said it is definitely going to come out at some point.

I'm trying to hold off on buying the DVD, but i'm not sure i'll be able too...

I would not count on it anytime soon. It was horrible at the theater after being shelved for quite some time and then quietly released on DVD with no mention of BD. Since only about 1 in 4 people that review give it even mediocre marks, I would say this coming to BD despite what a director says is not a sure thing. I my self have started it three times and just not made it through yet - I know i was tired each night, but that still is not looking good. In fact, i think maybe I will go try watching it a again this morning.

This piece of shit shouldn't be on any format where it might be seen by peoples' eyes.

Yeah, I think your theory is sound - However they released 'Norbit' on BD and that sucked worse than Southland Tales.

Kelly also said a more elaborate edition is in the works. Perhaps someday down the line if/when a special edition is done with a longer version of the movie and a Kelly commentary is recorded, then you'll see it on Blu-Ray.

i'm already annoyed by them. There needs to be a dedicated thread for these questions. otherwise in a month this forum is going to be nothing but impatient people asking stupid questions.

Well that is why there are moderator's, thier job is to delete threads like that and to direct them to the FAQ section of the forum.

It's also amazing what Google can do for you.

Threads to expect in the coming weeks...

If it keeps up, these will show up on this forum:

Why isn't the LORD OF THE RINGS Trilogy on Blu-ray yet!?

Will Jaws and Jurassic Park be among Universal's first Blu-ray titles?

No Country for Old Men Blu-ray SE when?

X-Men: The Last Stand and not the first two!? BULLS**T!

And of course, approximately 76,142 threads wondering where Star Wars is. 76,139 which will be by newbies.

I myself would like to ask:

Torque on Blu-ray: WHEN!?

alright guys, you can all simmer down.

i figured it was relevant being that it was just released on DVD. and it's not nearly as bad as some of the garbage out on BD right now.

so thanks for the people who didnt flip out... start a master "when will.." thread if you want to.

itll all be alright

And indeed the BD version has an audio commentary by Richard Kelly. It doesn't seem to be his longer cut though, if that is ever going to surface.

Buying a BD because of Southland Tales?

Film didn't get that great of reviews but I'll probably check it out.

Actually I'll be buying a Blu-ray thing because of the goddamn EXCLUSIVE commentary track. I bought an HD-DVD player because I wanted the exclusive special features For ALEXANDER and now I'll be having to go BLU for the commentary on ST.

Even so, wow. I guess there is 'that title' that everyone needs to have. I never thought this would be in anybody's wish list at all, let alone high on it.

Oh, I will. Don't worry about that. I'm done blind-buying on BD.

This is great news. Can't wait to hear the commentary track. Kinda bummed there is no word of the longer cut though.
