The Island(Michael Bay) import HD DVD

Is this a rare or otherwise desirable title?I did a search on this forum and came up empty.Even used copies on E-bay goes for more than $30+shipping,new ones $40+.It still is listed at around 20 Euros($33)on most e-tailers in Europe but I have found one place where i can obtain copies for about $13 each.Should i buy a bunch of these or is it overated?

Scarlett Johansson in Hi-Def - bit of a no brainer as far as I am concerned, hence the reason why my cheapish copy is winging its way from Germany at the moment. I like the film but then again I like Michael Bay's films in general. Plenty out there reckon its a pile of manure though.

Would you mind sharing with us where it is $13? A few of us might really like one at that price. Thanks.

If you know you can turn a profit on those then sure, why not.

If you want to own it to actually watch it on HD DVD, then it's definitely a bargain at $13. I paid like $35 from xploited and don't regret it. I really like the movie, awesome quality on HD disc too.

Amazon.de has this movie for that price, but if that's the only movie you are ordering, then shipping is 14 EUR (About $22.00). I have a group order going from other forums and anyone is more then likely to join in on it to save on shipping from that site. I am a respectible seller on eBay. PM me if you are interested.

It's just a small E-tailer in Sweden but they do not ship outside of that country so you have to have a contact there.I just thought it was rare or something and was going to buy a dussin or so to sell on E-bay but it seems to be available all over Europe so it will be discounted soon anyway. Most Swedish places have many titles for $13-$16(79-99kr).Here is one example:

Do you happen to know if there is a cutoff for the €14 shipping? I finally added 6 titles to my cart (all €8-€10 after VAT was removed) and it was still €14 does it ever change? There are more titles I'm interested in (unfortunately they are not under €11 yet) so I was holding off on another order right now.

Nope.... I think I tested with 40 titles and the ship price was €14 .

It's basically priority shipping. You get your items in a little over a week after they ship.

I DO want this movie, I just haven't decided in what format. I know Xpolited has both, I will have to check prices again.

I had 29 movies in my first group order and it only was 14 EUR. You can get The Island on HD DVD for $17.00 if you get in on my second group order. You have to contact me before Tuesday though as once T2 HD DVD Steelbook comes out then the order will ship out. This will be the last time I'm doing this as I don't plan on purchasing any more movies from them in the short term.

Blu-ray format for $40.00 (with shipping)

I bought my copy of THE ISLAND on Blu-ray for about $40 including international shipping from Sendit.com at:

http://sendit.com/video/item/7001000133083

It takes about a week to 10 days max to arrive, but well worth it.

The transfer is great.

Their price included shipping so I doubt it was that much different than what you paid. What does exploited charge for shipping one disc?

(And who hasn't bought a DVD, import or domestic, to only see it cheaper somewhere else? Someone may find that disc for half of what you paid for it.)

Actually...

It's cheaper with the Amazon UK 3 for 2 Sale

I believe my price averaged out to about $24 per disc.

Either way it rocks in HD.
A lot of people hate Bay, but he can make one entertaining movie.
