Thanks, Kenbuzz. dvd.co.uk has fast shipping, from previous experience. Too bad they didn't put Hot Fuzz on the list. I've been waiting for a price drop on that title.
|
If only they put The Fog, Mullholland Drive and The Graduate on that list...
|
Just an FYI, The Graduate will have forced subtitles when you select English for the audio. The subtitles are movable to some degree, and can be reduced in size.
I would recommend anyone wanting the $8.95 Magnolia titles on Amazon to get them ASAP. They are becoming harder to get. School For Scoundrels is just about OOS for good on Amazon's site and it's permanently OOS for DeepDiscount. I just picked up all the horror flicks which are not spectacular, but what the hell, for $8.95... |

Could you be confusing it with Serpico or Three Days of the Condor, perhaps? |
The Graduate is highly recommended. No forced subtitles.

On my particular disc it says:
Universal / Studio Canal 31020 / G42 / R0 So I dunno, maybe there are other versions out there than just the two (my version has German cover art) which are rumored to not have any subtitle forcing. But in my version, I gott'em. |
dvd.co.uk also has Battlestar Galactica Season 1 for $28 USD shipped

More like $35 USD shipped. But still a pretty good deal. I get Euros and Pounds mixed up myself.

https://www.dvd.co.uk/DVD/Battlestar...86/product.htm Update: Based on what I've read elsewhere, it looks like the UK set ships in the same fold-out case that is used for the Heroes Season 1 HD set. |
Thanks kenbuzz!
Ordered Atonement and Apollo 13. Was going to order Atonement anyway from amazon.uk for ~$15 for the wife for mother's day, so might as well spend the extra $7 for another disc. Funny, I sold Apollo 13 once, but I regretted it. |
Damn, I must like you guys, to keep updating this every other day.
Star Trek is back up to it's regular price, and titles are disappearing left and right. At this point, it looks like you snooze, you lose if you don't jump in. As before, I'm not updating the exchange rate except on a weekly basis, so the net cost in USD may be off by a dime here or there. EDIT: sorry those are 2 for 15.00 not 2 for 10.00 |
My Star Trek TOS S1 set shipped from Australia yesterday as well. Yaay!
I picked up two of the 2-for-10 HD DVDs from DVD.uk > one was Fearless, I can't recall which the other one was (that's pretty sad, I know). I also grabbed two 2-for-10 R2 SD DVDs > 1984 (OOP over here) and The Dalek Chronicles (two disc set, Peter Cushing). Even though the Cushing Doctor isn't considered canon, I still want to see it. And US$11 for both of the Cushing Dalek movies isn't too bad a price, IMO. But still, since I needed a 2nd title to get the discount on 1984, I'm pretty happy with the order overall. Let's see how quickly they ship.... |

I wonder if Amazon is prepping for an HD DVD BOGO sale. I noticed this morning that they jacked up the prices of almost all of their HD DVD inventory.
|
Can we start an International HD DVD clearance sale thread? I keep getting my hopes up that B&Ms or Amazon are having a sale and its the same ezdvd website over and over.

This thread is nearing time to be closed for length anyway, so continue however you see fit in the main bargains thread.
