I think you're missing the point. It's got nothing to do with new member or what the fuck ever - it's got to do with the way you go about it. Your tone and aggressive gloating is the stuff of sites like SlickDeals and FatWallet, not DVDTalk. We're a bit more laid back here...and fishing for thank yous and glory with shitty comments is just not looked upon well here. Sure, there's a ton of sarcasm around here, but it's not on something like this. I like the deals, but damn, back off.

I hold the door for people all the time when walking into a store or whatever. It's 50-50 as to whether or not people say "thanks", and I don't go after the ones that fail to say it like "hey douchebag, you're welcome". Capisce?

PS I only ordered Bruce Almighty at that price because I needed to get over the threshold for free shipping
Some great prices there. Does HMV.ca ship to the US, or should I wait for DanDaMan069 to tell us?

Disregard: I just checked their website, and they've got like 7 titles left and they're all at regular prices.

Caved in and ordered American Werewolf from ezydvd. Will mark my second international purchase after the Dutch version of Reservoir Dogs.

I just got my ezyDVD order. Wow, it took 3+ weeks, while others got theirs before they ordered it (or at least so it seemed to me). I got:

American Werewolf in London
Spartacus
Heroes S1
Battlestar Galactica S1
Bourne Ultimatum
Dragonheart

I've also got an order enroute for Into The Wild (AU$7.20 - cha ching!) and Casino.

I was very happy to see everything, but there's been a little damage to the BSG set. Those who have this set will know what the following means ... There are 6 HD DVDs in the set - three to a keepcase. The cases have a spindle on the inside left, inside right, and a page in the middle that is attached through a funky hinge mechanism that holds the 3rd disc. The funky hinge mechanism (FHM) comprises of a doohickey that sticks into a slot on the case, and has a hole on the opposite side that captures a pin on the middle page. On one of my two cases, the middle page had come loose, because the pin had snapped off inside the doohickey.

I don't suppose there are many sources in Bloomington IN where I can get a replacement Aussie-sized 3-bang HD-DVD case, so I'm figuring I'm pretty much out of luck. Looks like I'll be repackaging the 6 discs into three normal-sized HD-DVD cases (with ghetto spindles from WalMart) and will be looking for new cover art on R1DB or elsewhere. It's a shame, too, all because of a lousy 8mm long piece of plastic.

But the discs themselves look awesome. Can't wait to preview them tonight after my boy goes to bed.

Here's my experience. My HD-DVD copy of Into the Wild arrived today via US mail. I ordered it on April 2nd and it shipped the same day. It was packed in an unpadded heavy paper envelope labeled "AirMail". The HD-DVD itself was surrounded by a stiff wrap-around piece of stiff cardboard. They probably could have used some bubble wrap but the disc and the case arrived in perfect condition.

Given the excellent $10.97 USD shipped price, I'm very happy with EzyDVD and I would order from them again.

I'm tempted to order the BSG Season 1 set but that would be a blind buy for me.

One of the best television series ever. If you like sci-fi at all, I'd check it out.

You may be able to watch the first episode online first to make sure you'll love it. The first episode (33?) is one of the best first episodes of all time.

I highly recommend BSG. It's a fantastic show, well worth it.

Some Amazon price drops on Warner titles

Many (but not all) of the Warner catalog titles have dropped from $15.99 to $14.95. Check your recent orders for possible price adjustments.

Also some random (a few cents) price on several other titles, mainly box sets. Not enough to warrant price matches, unless you buy coffee at McDonalds.

Atonement, Hot Fuzz for £6.97 at Amazon.co.uk

About the best price you can get on these, currently. This goes especially for Atonement.

I blind bought this and was disappointed, FWIW. The show starts off excellent, but by the end of the first season my interest level plummeted and it was getting to be a chore to get through it. I can't imagine watching anymore complete seasons. Think West Wing in space.

I'd personally put that money towards the Star Trek season 1 set for sci-fi goodness.

It's a shame, too, all because of a lousy 8mm long piece of plastic.
For those following the saga, or for future reference in case someone else get a set with a snapped hinge pin.... I figured out a solution.

I noted that the two keepcases were slightly different. For me, case #1 (discs 1-3) had a spindle only on the right-hand clamshell side (when you opened it like a book) with a double-sided disk "page" hinged in the middle. Case #2 had a spindle on both clamshell sides and a single-sided disk "page" (with the snapped pin, rendering it useless). Even though the two pages had different configurations, they were identical in size, which lent itself to the following solution:

I threw away he single-sided disk page since it was broken. I took a spare "ghetto" spindle from WalMart and added it to the left-hand clamshell side of case #1, so now it could hold 4 discs (one on each clamshell side, two on the page). I moved disc #4 to this case and rearranged the discs so they are in proper order. It closed easily and securely. Case #2 has discs #5 and 6, one on each clamshell side.

Yeah, it's a compromise, but at least I wasn't forced to repackage them as I had previously feared, and it leaves open the option to do so later if I really want to. The only weirdness is that the cases have an unequal # of discs in them, and if I go looking for disc #4 months down the road without remembering the situation I might be momentarily confused. But it's better than having a broken case or dealing with a floater caused by a part that's probably impossible to reproduce cheaply or quickly.

If you're offering to trade, there are probably a lot of people who would take you up on that deal. If I didn't already have BSG S1 I might've been one of them.

I'm pretty sure that Borders no longer carries HD DVDs. You can still use them at Amazon, but not for much longer. Borders is severing their relationship with Amazon anytime now. You have to link to Amazon at www.borders.com .

thanks guys...seems their entire hd selection is available through border's.com, which is great. I found The Host has finally dropped there too: $17.49 - which is about $10 cheaper than i've seen it anywhere else....still $27 at DD too.

Got that and Wild Bunch

Borders.com is Amazon, plain and simple. You'll get Amazon stock at Amazon prices, but you can use your Borders gift cards as payment.

See if you can find a Canadian buddy to find it at HMV. It's $6.99 here.

If anyone has an F.Y.E. by them you may want to look at their used HD DVDs, alot of people have returned the Star Trek Season 1 Remastered sets, They had been selling the used ones for $100 - $125, but this last weekend I was in the one by me and they had lowered the price on the 3 used sets they had to $74. With a BSP that would only be $66.60, the best price yet for that set.

ezyDVD.com.au HD Clearance Sale - Update

Several titles more are now OOS, including Into The Wild (US$6.70 before s/h). Exchange rate has declined slightly (making things fractionally more expensive in US$)

Updated prices/availability in red

Linky: http://www.ezydvd.com.au/promo.zml?p...&dreg=1&dsav=1

Thanks, but I was kinda slamming naitram for his disrespect of (and obviously lack of appreciation for) a show that's quite highly thought of here, and his expressed preference for a show with a built-in "reset" button at the 58th minute of each episode.

Welcome to the forum!
lol I wasn't disrespecting anything, someone asked if people here thought the BSG HD set was a good blind-purchase. I merely gave my opinion, like several others did. Just because I happen to think it wasn't a good blind-buy doesn't mean anything more than that. It IS possible that some people don't drink from the tit of that show, you know.

Like I said, I thought the show started out great and I was quite excited about it, but after the first mini-series I thought the quality progressively dropped off and I have no desire to watch past the first season. I would have been perfectly fine renting the discs or even picking up a cheap used copy of the SD-DVD set.

Do I appreciate the work that went into it? Sure, there were some neat things about it. I watched the original when I was a kid, and some of the things they did in the new series were really cool. Will it become as legendary and hold up to the test of time like Star Trek has? Who really knows. But when someone asks an opinion here of whether their money is well spent on a set that costs over $50 that they haven't seen, I feel that money is better spent towards the Star Trek set. If we weren't talking about high-priced HD DVD sets of sci-fi t.v., of which there are very few of, then the comparison wouldn't matter.

Didn't mean to offend
