AMAZON has been alerted of the issue. Seems it might be some folks starting trouble by telling AMAZON lies about the release so they pull it. In any case, they are aware of this now and I have a conference call set up with a distributor rep tomorrow there to get to the bottom of it. It will be fixed shortly. Not a big deal...it's happened to us before.

Finally picked up Maniac on BD. Though after hearing so many mixed reviews, I might also have to keep around my old AB disc.

What I get from reading that forum, is that people are unhappy it's Region A Locked and reported it to Amazon?

What lies? Pretty blanket statement since it could pertain to not playing on certain BD players which would indeed be a valid reason for Amazon to pull it. They've certainly done it before.

According to Cinema Arcana, BU will be releasing The Nesting (1981) on Blu-ray and DVD on 5/31. I don't recall that one being mentioned in the Lustig interview.

Blu-ray.com review of Vampire Circus
Has anyone seen Maniac in it's recent theatrical re-release? Lustig has been in attendance at several of the shows. Here's a list of recent screenings.

From 10K Bullets:
Looks a bit light on the extras, it's a pity BU couldn't improve on the Arrow release. I was hoping for a commentary track from Kim Newman or Tim Lucas.

Re: Blue Underground and Synapse Films to release on Blu-ray
I'm disappointed that BU is just carrying over the existing Anchor Bay bonus material, but it's better than nothing. It's a shame they can't go further than that.
However, are they putting the cuts on separate discs or using the same disc by means of seamless branching or possibly separate encodes?
I also wouldn't be surprised if we see a different (and possibly) superior transfer compared to that of the Arrow BD. I'm only suggesting that because BU is releasing a remastered DVD that day too.

A bit off topic, but many of the BU Blu-ray titles stream from Netflix in HD. Since they don't seem to carry many of the actual Blu-rays, this may be your best viewing bet.

Wish it had a better cover and hope that they don't have the freeze frame ending titles, but this looks like I can FINALLY own this title.
