If anything isn't HD-dvd secret weapon Porn, I thought the porn industry was releasing movies in hd-dvd only because Blu Ray wouldn't allow it.

I truly think the secret weapon is software availability from the studios. Regardless of the industry, the average consumer only cares about how many 'potential' movies they can purchase and on which player these movies can be played.
So, as for sports or porn...neither will be the secret weapon, IMHO.

You guys trashing on wrestling, do you ever venture into the main DVDTalk forum? It's the fastest growing thread I have seen and consistently on the first page as well (not even the Evil Dead thread keeps up). As for wrestling fans not being tech savvy, well, the videogame revolution should tell you something. Look at how well wrestling games sell, and the fact they are on 360s and PS3s, which basically demand an HDTV.
On the whole thing of wrestling not being a sport, well, it isn't. Though tell that to a few states who have tried labeling it as such to force sporting event taxes on the shows.
I wonder if the fact that The Marine (John Cena) and The Condemned (Steve Austin) both being Blu Ray releases will mean anything for which format they go to.

Thanks.
Thanks.
Yes, that thread keeps going, but so do the many, many, releases to talk about almost every week. And IMO, the average post in that thread backs up exactly the point I was making.

Probably about the same as your average DVDTalker. So it makes sense that that thread is popular. Same with the wrestling videogames.
And going by what you just wrote, it would also make sense that WWE HD, whatever format they go with, will be a somewhat big deal. I couldn't imagine a more target audience to try and sell HD to than 18-34.

Honestly, I see them going BR because of their last two in-house movie releases being released on the format, but the idea that Toshiba is courting WWE and sports in general is pretty interesting.
