PS3 question...video retrieval?

I have been sending a ton of divx files to my PS3 and was wondering, can I retrieve them in any way? is there some type of program that works similiar to Tivos Tivo Desktop or are they pretty much stuck on my PS3 now? are there any options out there for this?

ok, I figured out that I can copy my divx files to memory cards used in the PS3. that will work for now. maybe someone will do some type of Tivo Desktop software for the PS3 at some point.

The thing I like about my Xbox Media Center is I can access it with an FTP program to add and move files back and forth. Not as convenient with the PS3. The only remote access is with the PSP.

How are you sending them? My friend just got a PS3 and thinks you can't store files on the internal hard drive.

Copy everything to an external hard drive or a usb flashdrive. The PS3 can do that.

Anything you put on an external USB drive or flash card can be copied to the PS3. When you copy it over you also get a small preview window of the video with the first few seconds.

I guess saying sending them isn't exactly correct. I see my files when I browse my shared folders on my pc. I then just hit the triangle button on the PS3 remote, select copy and then the files are saved on the PS3s HDD.
