I sent most of my e-mails 10:00 this morning, got responses around 7 PM. The system was kind of screwy, I resent some for orders I didn't get responses on.

Gizmo 01-11-08 09:16 PM

I just sent them 10 different e-mails and mentioned I was a Prime Member. Let's see if they go through..

Damed 01-11-08 09:32 PM

I asked for an adjustment on Kingdom of Heaven, 20 Million Miles from Earth and Stardust.

we'll see how it goes.

wewantflair 01-11-08 09:32 PM

If you use their system correctly, you can add items from many different orders and send them all in one e-mail. It makes things a lot smoother and they will do everything in one transaction.

How can you do that? The form I used to email them asked for one order number in its own field up top.

DVD Polizei 01-11-08 09:41 PM

I asked for all my HD DVD purchases to be given to me for free.

We'll see what happens.

But then all those requests would go to one CSR. Don't you want to spread out the probability of getting credited?

Good point, but I've never been denied, and I've done this a lot. Luck of the draw, I guess?

Anyhow, the way you do this is to press the contact customer service via email button. Find your first item and add a check mark next to it, then press the e-mail tab. Then press the add more items link and click the left arrow next to "more orders," which will bring up more orders. From each order you see, click the check box, then press add/remove items. Then repeat the cycle.

I bought Die Hard 1-3 and Xmen: Last Stand on the BOGO sale. I emailed them and this was their response.

Hello from Amazon.com.

The discounts we offer for items sold by Amazon.com can vary from
time to time. I've checked your order and found that we recently
offered a greater discount on items than at the time you placed your
order.

-X-Men - The Last Stand [Blu-ray]
-Die Hard [Blu-ray]
-Die Hard 2 - Die Harder [Blu-ray]
-Die Hard With a Vengeance [Blu-ray]

Since your purchase shipped within the past 30 days, I've requested
a refund of $33.84 (for each item 8.46 * 4) to your credit card.
This amount reflects the difference between the price you were
charged for the item and the current price offered by Amazon.com.
So, basically, I got back $33.84 on my order of $55. So, in essence, I paid $22 for those 4 Blu Rays.

I also requested a refund on the Toshiba HDA3, but I think I'm about 3 days outside of their 30 day window.

I put in for a credit from today's sale on Digital Video Essentials" at about 3pm, and got a positive response four hours later.

flix1 01-11-08 10:11 PM

I almost wish I had gotten my BOGO order in before they lowered the price on FF:ROTSS ... then I would have gotten X-Men3 and FF2 for $11.49 (after the price match).

In any case, if this goes through, then I would have gotten them for $14.49 total. Still a great deal!

you shouldn't be.

their price adjustment policy is in line with their return policy since you can theoretically return and rebuy the item.

during the holidays, their return policy is any purchases between November X (i forget the exact date) and December 31 can be returned by Jan 31.

So any items purchased during these dates may fall into the price match window.

edit: My Superbad purchase from 12-5 was just credited back to me so it seems to be right.

Deftones 01-11-08 10:31 PM

Ok, well since I bought the it on December 8th, maybe I'll get the refund. If I do, fantastic, but if I don't, not the end of the world either. The 3 freebie movies more than made up for it.

I put in for 5 refund requests, and got a response on 4 of them within 5 minutes! Maybe the last one got sent around the world...

Hmmm... I sent mine in about 8 hours ago and no responses. I used the email form where is asked for an order number up top. I typed the info in and put the new prices on the form and did one for each order. Is there a more official form I should be filling out somewhere? Under the "express" section of cs, I can only see ways to return items.

Oh okay, I wasn't sure whether they returned email during the weekends. Did you use the email form and select "return/refund" and then type in the info like I did too?

larry47591 01-11-08 11:09 PM

I got 150.00 back with the price drops on the fox blu-rays and the hd-dvd price drops. That was GREAT.

yes, same form. I have a feeling they probably have a lot of the same emails/calls coming in right now. It looks like they dropped a lot of prices today.

I emailed my requests this morning and just received the email approving the refunds.:) I'm sure that you'll wake up to a very pleasant email from Amazon.

Arpeggi 01-11-08 11:21 PM

I sent multiple emails this morning and received 1 concise reply back with all of the refunds included. Short and sweet. Amazon rules.

I hope so! I'm not sure how Amazon works but some people on AVS claimed to be getting denied based on what CSR they get.

neiname 01-11-08 11:32 PM

I asked for a price match on a couple of BOGO and got all of them. Also I asked for a price match on the HD-DVD player I just bought for $178 and they just refunded $47.15 because they did the price adjustment on the free movies I received. It's tempting to just try to sell the player to someone else as an upconverter on craigslist.

RavenTwo 01-12-08 01:51 AM

Gave it a shot. Just requested a credit for $16.92 for League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Ice Age 2.
