One & Only HD/BD Bargains Thread Part II: Shock Treatment

1080p for cheap. GO!

PixyJunket 01-10-08 02:22 PM

To start, here's a $20 off three Blu-Ray discs at Best Buy:
http://emailinfo.bestbuy.com/pp/edit...A=1007&ci=9468

The follow BDs are $15 this week:

Beerfest
Blood Diamond
Corpse Bride
Deliverance
Goodfellas
March of the Penguins
Million Dollar Baby
A Scanner Darkly
Training Day

You'll need at least one BD over $20 to use the coupon.

I grabbed Million Dollar Baby, Training Day and The Rock for $35.

Supermallet 01-10-08 02:22 PM

I thought this was an announcement for Shock Treatment on Blu-ray. :(

DthRdrX 01-10-08 08:16 PM

Using that deal tommorow. Thanks Pixy!

Arpeggi 01-10-08 08:29 PM

Fry's has the Panasonic BD30 or whatever for $369.99

Deftones 01-10-08 11:31 PM

ORLY? I wonder if Best Buy will pricematch that price. Bought when they had the 5 free instore movies, so I'm willing to bet they won't.

Arpeggi 01-11-08 12:14 AM

It's only in-store, no ad for it yet.

Deftones 01-11-08 12:16 AM

My local BB doesn't need an ad. They'll match the online price, just by looking it up on the site. I did it with a TV I bought there a few weeks ago.

Mr. Cinema 01-11-08 08:55 AM

HOT PRICE: Spiderman BD Trilogy is down to $43 at Amazon.

Probably not, but it can't hurt to ask.

matome 01-11-08 10:00 AM

Close Encounters of The Third Kind SE Blu-ray just $24 at amazon

http://www.amazon.com/Close-Encounte...0067165&sr=8-2

matome 01-11-08 10:02 AM

Hmm...interesting. Maybe I will end up putting a blu-ray in the guest room after all.

PixyJunket 01-11-08 10:12 AM

Are there any good prices for Blade Runner or the Resident Evil box set?

Patman 01-11-08 10:27 AM

I'm probably going to hold out for the BD50 (I think I'll call it the Be-Dee-Fiddy) later in the summer.

Damed 01-11-08 01:03 PM

Amazon.COM HD-DVD sale. Titles as low as $14.99

Nice to see some more recent titles on there.

Thanks for the heads-up! I ordered a couple of these in the recent BOGO, so this makes them even cheaper with the price-match.

I have to figure that we'll see SEs of SM and SM2 soon. I'm holding out.

What? WHERE?! What sale?!

cartman 01-11-08 02:19 PM

On Amazon, Pixy. Season 1 is $18.49, season 2 is $22.49 ($16.64 and $20.24 if you are lucky enough to still have the 10% going on :) ). For some reason I glanced at a post above mine and thought it was a link to the BD sale on Amazon right now, not the HD, which is why I didn't link it in my first post.

DthRdrX 01-11-08 02:22 PM

Massive Price cuts on both Formats. Check prices with any titles you may have recently bought from them.

Link to the Blu-Ray deals.

Without the 10% bit (which I don't get), that's basically a % or two lower than they normally have them. I wonder if I can get the first two seasons and forget (even with the second season cliffhanger) that the third season existed.

gryffinmaster 01-11-08 02:41 PM

Have no idea if it was mentioned in Part I or not, but the Oldboy - Tartan Asia Extreme Blu-Ray Edition is $22.95 @ Amazon right now.

Deftones 01-11-08 03:29 PM

Jeez. There are some ridiculous price drops there. I may have to get a few titles. That Spiderman box set looks awfully tempting.

King Felix 01-11-08 03:40 PM

I would buy 6-10 movies but Im broke, if I get the price adjustment refunds from 3 movies that I requested soon I'll buy a movie tho.

Just keep in mind that only the (crappy) third movie gets the deluxe 2 disc treatment. The other two are single disc only, with not great reviews on the video of disc 1 iirc.

I'm sure the first two will get better releases.

Patman 01-11-08 04:28 PM

I'm totally waiting for the double-dip of Spider-Man 1 and 2 from Sony.

Quake1028 01-11-08 05:06 PM

Just sent an e-mail for my $30.99 credit from Amazon for my A3 ! Holding onto this turns into a better deal each and every day.

Mr. Cinema 01-11-08 05:07 PM

Amazon has slashed HD DVD player pricing.

HD-A3: $148.99
HD-A30: $198.99
HD-A35: $299.24

:jawdrop: Let's hope that they don't sell out and that the price sticks until I go to Fort Worth or Denver, so I can order one (no Canadian shipping on electronics :( )

The A30 is down to 172.97.... Damn, I wish they were still doing the 10 free movie offer. I almost bought one in December when they had Batman Begins and Bourne Identity in the 3 you could select for free.

I wonder how low they'll go? :)

Gizmo 01-11-08 09:19 PM

I want an XA2...c'mon...

Arpeggi 01-11-08 09:56 PM

Fuck, I bought my A35 for $380 in November.

I just did the same. But, I think I was just 3 days outside the 30 days after they shipped me. I hope I get it, but I wouldn't complain if I didn't, since they gave me money back on BOGO BluRays I didn't pay for.

Just as an aside.

I went to BB and requested a price match. The frys.com site was sold out and the nearest Fry's didn't have the BD30k in stock. Called another one on the otherside of town and they had 5 in stock. Got the CSR to call, and they gave me the difference. Ended up being $360 for the machine, and after all my giftcards I ended up only forking over $110 after gift cards. I was stoked. Especially since they didn't seem to care about the 5 in-store movie promo I bought it with. So, I go the movies and that lower price.

Bezerker 01-12-08 12:38 AM

Wasnt there someone who posted their transaction with Warehousedeals that got BSG S1 HD-DVD for $5.24? I cant seem to find it on the old thread.

Quake1028 01-12-08 12:29 PM

$32.65 credit placed back in my account. Time to order Pan's Labyrinth and The Pianist for only $7.76 more out of pocket. I love Amazon .

I was able to pick up Heroes Season 1 for $8.13 not counting shipping cost from Warehousedeals yesterday.
