More info on possible Blu-Ray add-on for Xbox360?

DailyTech posted this this morning.... Maybe I'm blind and can't find the thread, or maybe I'm just reading too much into it, but it strikes me as another 'writing is on the wall for HD-DVD'... I thought more discussion would be centred around this.

I do find it somewhat ironic that MS, of all people, is playing the 'we'll just let the consumers decide what's best' card.

All they said is that they would "consider" it. I don't think that will happen, if ever, for a very long time.

I think Microsoft may more than "consider" it if we see both NBC Universal and Paramount supporting Blu-ray, because that means all of the major studios will now offer Blu-ray releases. As such, it would be in Microsoft's economic interest to offer an external Blu-ray player drive for the Xbox 360 or update the Xbox 360 hardware to support an internal Blu-ray drive, since Blu-ray will become more or less the singular HDM format.

How about a combo-drive add on. That would rock.
