I'm not sure. I'm also not sure if this is really always going to be the case, or if it's just a studio rep engaging in some CYA regarding the delinquent screeners.

While watching the movie last night, I noticed this was encoded using VC-1. Is this LionsGate's first VC-1 title? They usually use AVC.

I finally finished the movie. I picked it up as a blind buy. I'd give it a 7 out of 10. I going to re-watch it. Maybe it will grab me better this time. It definitely wasn't any No Country for Old Men.

^ Unfortunately, now that you've seen NCFOM, a lot of dramas are going to come off as unimpressive. At least I have There Will Be Blood to look forward to.

TWBB definitely won't come off as unimpressive even after having seen NCFOM.
I liked NCFOM but I prefer TWBB and 3:10 to it.
The ending sort of messed things up for me...

Is there another BD disc that contains more previews than 3:10 to Yuma? sheesh. There's 13 minutes of previews. For a second there, I thought this was a Disney disc.

That's one really big strike against the Blu-ray discs when compared to HD-DVD's.

The worst is not being able to jump straight to the main menu, you have to painfully keep pressing chapter forward until you eventually get to the main menu.

The movie kind of fizzled out for me towards the end, even though it was obviously set up to be the big climax.

Picture quality wise, it looked okay, a little drab, perhaps a tad grainy. But then I watched one of the making of documentaries, and the same scenes on the documentary were very sharp and vibrant, so it looks like the movie was toned down during post-production.

They must've completely changed their policy recently. I used to review movies on the net and they'd send me full releases or check discs at least a week in advance of their street date. It was awesome.

This new policy change is going to hurt them in the long run though.
