So how is the HD-DVD guys? I can't watch mine for another week since I'm stuck at my parents. I read the DVD Talk review but I wanna know you opinions. How are the special features? I'm also curious how the menus are. Does the movie start up automatically or does it bring you to a main menu?

Just picked up a copy at Borders using a 25% off coupon. Even with the dismal Warner news from last weekend, I still found lots of joy in picking this up in its red case.

Managed to track down a copy this evening, after finding that no one in the area had it available yesterday. Beautiful picture on this one, and a great way to cap off my brief stay in the world of high def.

I got my copy from Amazon today, and while it's a great disc, it gave my A1 a problem. I've got to preface this by saying that in over a year, the only "problem" my A1 has given me is a stutter on three occasions, so I was surprised when 1:42 into the movie it froze and gave me a "0x81000c03" error code. After rebooting, it worked fine the rest of the way, but that was worrysome!

When I first saw this in theaters, I didn't dislike it, but it wasn't the kind of movie that I thought I'd ever have a drive to watch again. I got the HD DVD primarily for the bonus features (I love the other Fincher making of's), and the movie itself has really grown on me. So glad I got this.

I really was looking forward to this one and then the news came in on HD-DVD.

Now it looks as if i'll be waiting for it to come out on Blu-Ray.

I watched this tonight. Very impressed with the quality and the film itself. I hadn't seen it since it's opening day. Such a great film and I have to say this movie still ranks up there with the best that has been released this year. Having not seen in a long time can anyone tell me what was different in this version? The only thing I noticed that may have been different was the part where the screen goes blank and the audio is basically clips of news events during a 4 year time span. I think I would've remembered that in the theatre.

The scene where Graysmith wakes up Avery in his car outside the tavern is new.

I just watched this and loved the color palate and often striking amount of detail. Am going right back to start working my way through disc 2, which sounds absolutely grand.

It would be a real shame if folks shied away from this fine set because of the Warner news.

I'm watching the 2nd disc with the long doc (the one with all of the interviews with the real-life people involved with the case), and the video keeps going black every few minutes, while the audio never skips a beat. I assume this is the way things are supposed to go, but I just wanted to check. If you're wondering (in case it might be a compatibility problem or something), I'm using the xbox addon with my (new-ish) computer.

I think this has more to do with the editing as apposed to anything else.

My fiancee was saying the same thing.

I told her to shut up and let the blackouts build to a payoff... It worked... she closed her mouth.

This film is going to go down as one of the top five films on this format.

No doubt. This is the second day in a row I'm choosing to watch the extras from the movie over sleeping. And I LOVE sleep.

(thanks for the confirmation re: editing!)

See, women still don't understand these things, even when we give them the chance to work it out themselves.

I really liked all the extras, thought it was quite funny that Fincher is hardly in the making of..., a chance for the CG guys to shine.

Just got this today. The set is like sex on discs. Not only was the flick more enjoyable than the theater experience, but the extras are really good too. My favorite HD-DVD release behind Plant Earth and Blade Runner.
